Chapter Reveal ~ Screwed by Kendall Ryan

Release Date: September 15

Book Description:
I have one rule: Don’t shit where you eat.

Several of the women in the condo complex I own would love some one-on-one playtime, and why wouldn’t they? I’m young, fit, attractive, and loaded. Not to mention I’m packing a sizable bulge below the belt. It’s a combination that drops panties on a regular basis.

Yay, me, right?

But my cock, troublemaker that he is, has been confined to my trousers by my business partner. A concession I agreed to, and one that’s never been hard to enforce until Emery moves in across the hall. She’s smart, young, determined, and sexy as hell. I want a taste. I won’t stop until I’m buried deep inside the succulent new-in-town brunette.

After being warned about my past, she does her best to steer clear, but I’m about to show her that underneath it all, I’m a guy with a heart of gold and a cock of steel.

My name is Hayden Oliver, and this is my story.

SCREWED is standalone romantic comedy by New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author Kendall Ryan.

Chapter One:

Chapter One
Hayden

Goddamn. This is going to be harder than I thought.
My eyes swing over to admire the most perfect pear-shaped ass I’ve ever had the pleasure of laying eyes on while my business partner Hudson continues lecturing me. I think it’s something important, but there’s nothing more urgent than my body’s reaction to this shapely brunette. Jesus. Those tits are definitely real.
“I mean it. Your cock is cut off this time,” Hudson says roughly, his tone biting.
Tearing my gaze away from the succulent new brunette moving into unit 4B, I face him. “Not literally cut off. I’m sort of attached to him. You realize that, right?”
“Well it’s on lock down then. No more of this bullshit. I had three calls this week alone from hysterical women – our tenants – who you, how do I put this delicately? You fucked and then left before their pussies were even dry.”
I smirk at him, but I can’t deny the accusation. We’re like the real life Melrose Place. Sexy young twenty-somethings all living in close proximity. There’s bound to be a little drama now and again.

Together, Hudson and I own thirty buildings in the greater Los Angeles area. And some of our buildings have very fuckable tenants. Up until this point, I’d considered that a nice bonus, and a perk of the job. Hudson has apparently viewed it differently.
“Who’s that?” I ask, tipping my head toward the bombshell who’s responsible for all the blood rushing to my groin. Fuck. I should have a word with her about that, that’s not cool.
Hudson’s eyes swing to the left to see what, or rather, who has captured my attention. And who’s given me this semi-chub, which I hope he hasn’t noticed. We’re close, but we’re not that close.
“No, no, no. Don’t get any ideas. You’re not tagging that.”
She’s not close enough to overhear us, but I shoot him a scowl anyway. “Show some class, man.

Tagging is such a juvenile word. I’d take my time, get her hot and ready first, until she was begging for me to fill her tight, little cunt.”
“I’m fucking serious. You’re not to even think about her tight cunt.”
“So you acknowledge she’s got a tight cunt?” I smile, proud of myself.
He wipes sweat from his brow, looking worried. “Hayden, I’m serious this time.” His voice has taken on a somber tone, and for once, I try to be serious and focus.
Watching the way the vein throbs in his neck, my smile fades. We’re standing outside of one of our nicest buildings just outside of downtown, and the mid-afternoon sun is beating down on us.

Suddenly I want to get away from him, and away from this entire conversation and into the cool air conditioning inside. Shit has gotten a little too real for me.
“You know me,” I grin at him, trying to lighten the mood. “I just wanted to have some casual fun.”

And if that meant sleeping my way through the LA singles scene, so be it. I’m not looking for something deeper. I have a luxury condo in the heart of the Hollywood Hills, drive a new model BMW and possess a nine-inch cock. Translation: Life is good. Or it was, until Hudson decided to get a bug up his ass and lay down the law today.
“Did you hear a word I just said? One of your latest conquests threatened to report our company to the Better Business Bureau for unethical business practices. This isn’t just about you. This affects me too. And I’ll be damned if I watch everything we’ve built go down in flames because you can’t keep your dick in your pants.”
“Point taken.” Hudson is pretty much the best friend, and best business partner you could ask for.
He’s smart as hell, dedicated, works like a dog day and night. And not to mention when we began our real estate investment company five years ago, he single-handedly fronted all the start-up capital from his own savings and trust fund. It took me years to pay him back as the profits rolled in, and he never once made me feel lesser, or like I was in debt to him. Not to mention, he’s funny, well-off, and good looking. He’s an excellent wing-man. Plus he knows the best taco joints.
Unable to help myself, my eyes drift over to her again. 4B fills out a pair of yoga pants in ways that I doubt are even legal in most countries. I needed to know what was underneath those curve-hugging black athletic pants. Simple cotton panties, or a naughty g-string? Either way, I wanted to bury my fingers inside the waistband of those pants, peel them down her hips and find out. Perhaps it was because Hudson just made her forbidden fruit, but I wanted a taste. My damn mouth was practically watering.
She looked smart, and put together, despite her casual attire, including a tank top and tennis shoes.

With a clipboard in one hand, and her trusty number two pencil in the other, she ticked items off of her list, and instructed the movers who were unloading and carrying boxes up to her new place – which just so happened to be directly underneath mine.
“You’re not going to last three minutes let alone three days.” Hudson grimaces, glancing over again at our newest resident.
“What do you know about her?”
He rolls his eyes, but humors me. “Emery Elaine Winters. She’s an attorney. Excellent references. Even better credit score, and she signed a one year lease. And she’s to remain in pristine condition, or so help me God …”
When I glance up at her again, I see Roxy, another of our residents has joined Emery on the sidewalk, and they appear to be making small talk. Shaking hands, exchanging words, and smiling at each other. There’s something I strongly dislike about these two women talking. Roxy is an exotic dancer, and she I have a bit of a rocky past. Which is a huge fucking understatement, but not something I care to dwell on now. Hudson mentions something about fourth quarter taxes, and I tune him out, sure I just heard my name on Roxy’s over-glossed lips.
“Excuse me, I’ve got business to attend to.” I step around him, heading straight toward my new prize.
Roxy spots me, and takes off for the parking area.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Hudson calls after me.
“Just being neighborly. Someone’s got to properly welcome Miss Winters.”
“Dammit, Hayden,” I hear him shout.
“I’ve got this, buddy,” I shout back over my shoulder.
I can control myself around her. I have to, according to Hudson. I don’t like being told what to do, especially where my cock was concerned, and hell, it’ll probably only make me want her more, but as I close the distance between Emery and me, I make a plan.
Friends.
I would become friends with the so-hot-I-wanted-to-bend-her-over-and-fuck-her-in-broad-daylight new girl.
This was either the best plan I’d ever had, or would end with me sporting a black eye, courtesy of my best friend.
It’s go time.

Blog Tour, Excerpt & Review ~ Loving the White Liar by Kate Stewart

Book Description:

I met my true love when I was twenty-seven. He was handsome, charming, witty, and irresistible. Jayden Monroe came along when I was struggling with indecision and made things simple, turned monochrome into vivid color, and forever altered my perspective on life.

I was not naive enough to believe in happily ever after, but with Jayden, it seemed possible . . . until I realized something wasn’t quite right.

You see, I met a man who would be anyone I needed him to be, and after I found out that fact, I knew it would be impossible to walk away. His disorder, however, would change everything I ever thought about love and what it truly meant to accept someone for who they are.

This is not my sob story; this is his success story

“Jayden,” I said in warning.

“Okay.” He let out a long breath. “It’s like a tidal wave that’s impossible to stop. I just get sad and a little scared. It’s not clinical, but it’s rough. I feel like everything’s wrong. Nothing will get better. You know, hopeless.” I nodded as I felt the discomfort he was feeling from telling me. “It doesn’t happen a lot, once or twice a year, and it doesn’t last long. It’s not even really a symptom of ADHD. I don’t know. I guess my racing brain just gets tired and I shut down. It’s all about the chemicals in my brain. You know what ADHD is, right?”

“I’m beginning to think I don’t,” I said honestly. “I started to look it up the other night and then your mom called.”

“My mom called?”

“Yes, we are going to a barbeque Saturday.”

“No shit,” he said, smiling.

Jayden picked up a sponge from the side of the tub and poured some liquid soap on it to suds it up then began rubbing my leg with it. “She’s going to love you, Hilary.”

“Oh yeah, how do you know that?”

“I know her.” He grinned.

Jayden’s sponge drifted over my stomach as he crept closer to me. Still working his sponge, he managed to lift me by my arms, pulling me into his seated lap. I felt his growing hardness as I wrapped my legs around him. His muscled arms firmly around me, he used the sponge on my back as he stared into my eyes. “I missed you.”

“You didn’t have to,” I protested, looking away. I didn’t want to cry again. I didn’t want him to think of me as weak. I wanted him to be able to trust that I could handle it.

“Look at me,” he ordered gently, gripping me tighter as he continued to bathe me. “I wasn’t there.”

I nodded. “I’ll live. I . . . You didn’t tell me about that part.”

“Do you have any idea how hard it is to explain to the person you are falling for that they might not want to reciprocate your affection because you may on occasion have an uncontrollable, explosive temper tantrum? Or that you may pop off with inappropriate comments at any point in time that could alienate them? Oh, and don’t forget the controlling, OCD tendencies with a small, short-lived side of anxiety and depression. Or better yet, how to explain you weren’t listening to something important they were trying to convey because you were too busy figuring out the difference between jelly and jam.”

“Just like that,” I answered, knowing it wasn’t that simple.

Reviewed by Donna ~ 4.5 stars
***ARC received for an honest review***

“This is not my sob story; this is his success story.”

To say this was an emotional, beautiful book is a severe understatement. This book is about a woman who is desperately looking for love and a man that fears he will never find it and doesn’t deserve it. But also, this book is about how true love wins, no matter the adversities and the crap that life throws at you, that everyone deserves their chance at happiness no matter how little they feel they don’t. That there is someone out there for everyone and once you find them...you know and no matter the struggles...you keep them...you fight for them....fight for the both of you. This book is emotional and heartfelt, but such a beautiful, beautiful love story.

“Life was short, friends were important, but snot cry friends were for life.”

Hilary is lost is more ways than one, she doesn’t know what to do, work and her love life are dead ends, so she decides that she is going to take stock of herself, firstly...her job. Handing in her notice at her waitressing job was the beginning for Hilary, finally feeling like she is taking the first step of her life. The next step comes when she crosses paths with one of her neighbours, Jayden. Maybe Hilary’s life is finally gathering momentum?

“In the end the love you take is equal to the love you make.”

Jayden, Jayden, Jayden...to say that I loved this guy is a severe understatement. Jayden has ADHD and as he has found out, this affliction is not conducive to successful relationships with the opposite sex, so he has resigned himself to a life of loneliness and I have to say, my heart truly broke for him. He was handsome, he was romantic, he was attentive, but he also had his moments where ADHD changed him, his episodes are where he loses himself and more often than not, loses the women that allegedly love him.

These two had chemistry, from the first moment they meet you could feel the sizzle but these two become friends first and Hilary soon recognises that Jayden is different, but rather than run away, Hilary perseveres. She treasures their friendship, she loves their relationship and she believes that Jayden deserves more...she wants more and she will fight for more.

“I told you loving me wasn’t easy, Hil...”
“It’s so easy to love you, Jayden. Too easy. It’s only hard when you won’t let me.”

Hilary didn’t see Jayden as the ADHD sufferer; she never let his condition define him. She looked for the person underneath, she loved the person underneath, she saw through his flaws. Jayden was upfront from the beginning and Hilary does her homework and so the hardest love story begins.

“This was the man I loved. All of him, the parts that worked and the ones that didn’t work for him, I loved all of him completely.”

This is a story of true love, that all-encompassing love, that soul mate kind of love. Where flaws are mere speed bumps, they are there to go over and sometimes slow you down. Where working together is imperative and being honest is of vital importance. Where learning to bend and learning to adapt works both ways, but first and foremost love conquers all. Everybody deserves a shot at love, everybody needs to be loved and love needs to be nurtured and treasured and to never take it for granted. I loved that this was a “real” love story, we are not all perfect but that doesn’t make us any less worthy. Kate Stewart always manages to deliver something different and that is what I love about this book. Yes it was different but it was honest, it was raw, it was powerful. I lived it, I breathed it but most importantly, I loved it.

Blog Tour, Excerpt & Giveaway ~ Out of Time (Nine Minutes Book 2) by Beth Flynn

OUT OF TIME is the HIGHLY ANTICIPATED sequel to NINE MINUTES where Grizz, Kit & Grunt's gritty tale continues!

Book Description:

RECOMMENDED FOR READERS 18 AND OLDER DUE TO
STRONG LANGUAGE, SEXUAL SITUATIONS AND VIOLENCE

Out of Time is book two in a series. It is not a standalone novel. I highly recommend that you read my first novel, Nine Minutes, to be able to understand the background stories of the main characters.
There are many twists and turns in both stories that can best be connected if read consecutively.

Although I do answer all of the outstanding questions from Nine Minutes, there is more to this story, and some readers may consider it a cliffhanger. If you do not like cliffhangers, you may want to wait until the third novel is released in 2016.

They thought with his execution it would all be over.

They were wrong.

The leader of one of South Florida’s most notorious and brutal motorcycle gangs has been put to death by lethal injection. Days later, his family and friends should have been picking up the pieces, moving on. Instead, they’ve been catapulted into a world so twisted and dangerous even the most ruthless among them would be stunned to discover the tangled web of deception, not only on the dangerous streets of South Florida but all the way to the top.

In this gripping follow-up novel to Nine Minutes, Out of Time takes readers from the sun-drenched flatlands of 1950s Central Florida to the vivid tropical heat of Fort Lauderdale to the halls of Florida’s Death Row as we finally learn the gritty backstory of Jason “Grizz” Talbot and the secret he spent his life trying to conceal.

Not even Grizz’s inner circle knows his full story—the tragedy that enveloped his early life, the surprise discovery that made him the government’s most wanted and most feared, and the depths of his love for Ginny, the tenderhearted innocent he’d once abducted and later made his wife.

Once Grizz’s obsession and now the mother of his child, Ginny has spent years grieving the man she’d first resisted and then came to love. Now remarried to Tommy, a former member of the gang, the pair have spent more than a decade trying desperately to live a normal existence far from the violent, crime-ridden world they’d once carved out on the edge of the Florida Everglades. For Tommy, especially, the stakes are high. Desperately in love with Ginny for years, he’s finally living his dream: married to the woman he never thought he could have. But even with the façade of normalcy—thriving careers, two beautiful children, and a genuinely happy and loving marriage—they can’t seem to put the past behind them. Every time they turn around, another secret is revealed, unraveling the very bonds that hold them together.

And with Grizz finally put to death, now Ginny has learned secrets so dark, so evil she’s not even sure she can go on.

Will these secrets tear their love to pieces? And how far will Grizz go to protect what he still considers his, even from beyond the grave?

1979

“Yes! There is something I want for my birthday. Something I really want! I’ve been thinking about our prom date last year.”

“You want another romantic night at Martin’s beach house?” He grinned, relieved. A night making love with Kit at the beach house. Ohhhhh yeahhhh.

“No. Not the beach house.” She was bouncing in her seat now. “I want you to take me out! Dancing. I want to go to a club and go dancing.”

His smile faded and he looked a little deflated. He wasn’t going to tell her his name. He wasn’t going to go to church with her. How could he tell her no to the third thing she’d asked for?

“Shit, baby. You have to know I’m not a dancer. I barely got by with the slow dancing in Martin’s gazebo.”

“I want to go dancing, Grizz. Please! The only time I ever get to dance is when I convince Axel to dance with me in number four. And you know that’s barely ever. He won’t do it if there are a lot of people at the motel. He doesn’t want to risk being seen.”

Grizz had to smile at this. He’d walked in more than once on Axel and Kit dancing to one of those groups that Kit loved. If you asked him, those guys’ voices sounded like someone had their balls in a vice. A high-pitched squeal is all he ever heard and he never stayed around long enough to listen to an entire song.

“Why do you dance to a song about a bald-headed woman?” He’d asked her once.

Axel and Kit had stopped and peered at him strangely. “What do you mean by bald headed woman?” Kit had asked as Grizz turned the stereo down.

“These guys, who sound like women, are singing about a bald-headed woman,” Grizz replied.

She’d started laughing. “The Bee Gees are saying ‘more than a woman,’ Grizz. Not bald-headed woman! The song is called More Than a Woman and I happen to love it.”

“Whatever it’s called, it still sucks. I’m outta here.”

Grizz appreciated that Axel danced with his wife. And yes, he knew Axel’s other secret, too. He honestly didn’t care. He didn’t care what any guy decided to do with his dick as long as it was never near his wife. But he also knew he had to keep Axel’s secret. As leader, he had final say as to who could be in the gang. Still, he knew not everyone would be tolerant of Axel’s lifestyle. It was just easier to let it stay a secret. And besides, he was certain nobody suspected a thing.

“I don’t dance, Kit.” Grizz said now, shaking his head.

“But I want to go dancing for my birthday.” She folded her arms and gave him an accusing look. “You asked!”He shook his head slightly and looked at her. “Can’t I just buy you another car?”

Review ~ Against the Tide by Nikki Groom

Reviewed by Donna ~3.5 stars
***ARC given for an honest review***

“I’m done fighting against the tide, it’s time to move with it.”

I do love a love/hate relationship and this one is a good one, all that pent up aggression and frustration just spills over into some of the hottest and most passionate scenes whereby you cannot help but go PHEW! Nikki Groom really captures that sentiment in this book and what I loved the most was that you knew deep down that these two actually fancied the pants off each other and really they were incredibly well suited. In this book it is circumstances and situations that fuel that love/hate, whereas if they had met another time or another place you knew that things would have progressed totally differently.

Megan works at a tattoo parlour and has been with her boyfriend for five years but he does his thing and she does hers, even though they are “together” they are not really and have not been for quite a while. These two have drifted apart and their ideals and aspirations are totally opposite from one another. Megan knows that it is time to move on but he is not an easy man to get away from. One night though all that changes, Megan is finally given the kick that she needs to make that break and this is also the same night that she finally gets to speak to the man that has captured her attention for the past few months…their eyes have always found each others and that is as far as it has gone…but that night…club…alleyway…HOT!!

“…I don’t know who stole your fun, but I’m going to give it back to you.”

Finn is a mechanic and to be honest his life is a bit of a mess at the moment, he spends all his waking moments trying to look after his terminally ill mum and his little sister. He does anything and everything he can to keep his mum and sister comfortable; they are his main focus in life. On the rare nights when he unwinds he goes to a club, this is THE club where he sees her…their eyes always connect as if they seek each other of their own accord. There is something about her, something that cannot keep his eyes away, but she has always been an enigma, someone he looks at but never touches, never talks to, but he wants to.

“…it’s like he sings in a pitch that only I can hear. I know he’s there before I see him…”

Their paths cross and this is where this story really begins and from this point I cannot say anything more, you need to read it and experience it for yourself. This book does contain plots that revolve around drug abuse in the beginning and the fall out thereafter.

I have to say I was hooked while reading this book, the song and dance and push and pull was perfectly written capturing that will they won’t they feeling as their story progresses. I felt their chemistry and it oozed off the page and it is this that has you championing these two from the beginning. There is a fair amount of drama and angst but at no time did I feel it was too much. It all had its purpose. I loved the secondary characters as well, Kyle and Harley had me itching for their story, especially Harley, and I bet his will be a hoot if the author takes that route. Torran was also an enigma; I want to know more about him too…I am sure that secretly he has a bit of a crush on Megan.

“I’d choose you in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred different worlds.”

For me, this would have been a solid 4 star read had I not felt it was rushed at the end and while I loved the epilogue I felt that it still left some doors open and I didn’t really feel that their story had come full circle. This maybe because it will be continued in the other characters stories?? I just felt a bit empty at the end. But overall I loved it and I hope that their will be more from this series. I loved that it was set in the UK and loved the typically British dialogue. This was my first read by Nikki Groom and it won’t be my last.

Friday Frights ~ PNR Review ~ You Only Live Nine Times: Book Three Supernatural Enforcers Agency by E.A. Price

Reviewed by Shirley ~ 4.5 stars

This is the latest book in this excellent series. It is sexy, erotic, with sauce and humour running through, a superb story. It is about a very strong willed, sexy, tiger shifter called Isis, who loved the openness of fleeting sexual encounters until she met a certain very good looking detective, where her original thoughts of casual sex turned upside down and inside out.

Isis worked as an agent for the SEA (Supernatural Enforcers Agency) and a very good one she is too, but her love life has seemed to have earned herself a bit of a reputation, not that she cares; in her eyes she just scratches an itch when needed. And then there is the detective, Detective Rafael Silva, who works for the LLPD (Los Lobos Police Department), who is also very good at his job, but is not happy working in a department that is prejudiced against the supernatural community, especially the shifters in his town, it annoyed him no end.

These two were brought together on a certain case. Isis had been asked to check out an incident in one of the towns cemeteries that night, and while there, she was shoved in the back and had landed in an open grave, which was not empty. Phew, and while trying to get out she heard this deep chocolate voice asking her if she needed help getting out, and boy, did that set her libido jumping.

When she met the man who owned that delicious voice, she definitely liked what she saw

“Hmmm, good looks – check
Sexy voice - check
Manners - check”

And her full flirty self came to the fore.

Raf was not immune by the woman standing in front of him, shifter, or no shifter, she was beautiful and he just loved her feistiness which made her eyes go from green to bright yellow and back again, he was fascinated, and being around her was certainly affecting a certain part of his anatomy, he just hoped she didn't notice in the dark, but he didn't realise then that shifters had an acute sense of smell and they could smell desire quite easily.

Coming to a decision after much arguing, who was going to get the case, they agreed to meet in the morning at the LLPD. That night all Raf could dream about was the sexy Isis.

“A fiery-haired tiger shifter doing unspeakable saucy things to his body all night.”

He'd never been so hard in one night, wow. And Isis was fairing no better she had already been feeling frisky before meeting Raf and after, it went through the roof, even women needed cold showers after meeting a man who resembled a six foot god. The next morning after Isis caused quite the stir when she arrived at the LLPD, causing awe in some and jealousy in others, when they saw her stride in, in her sexy way, looking more gorgeous if that was possible in Rafs eyes. It was decided it was going to be a joint investigation with Isis for the SEA and Raf for the LLPD, and that's when life got very interesting for these two.

To say they were attracted to each other was an understatement. Through the story you will see this attraction build, and also what comes out of Isis mouth will get you chuckling, she can be one funny lady and sarcasm, well, let’s say she uses it when needed which can be often, love it.

It started with a kiss, which led to some loving in the back seat of the car...

“Forget his worries over their different species, he needed this woman, wanted her with a burning aching need, and damn if she didn't feel the same.”

To when this very hot attraction between them goes up a notch...

“He watched entranced as his manhood dipped in and out of her body, pulling out covered in her nectar and then disappearing again into her glorious, clenching sex. Isis thought to herself that he was the best lover she had ever had or ever will, and her tiger agreed "Mine".”

You will love this book. Great story, great characters and Hot, Hot sexy loving. A real page turner. Loved it Ms Price.

Release Day Blitz ~ Out of Time (Nine Minutes Book 2) by Beth Flynn

Review ~ The Shortstop by AM Madden

Reviewed by Donna ~ 4.5 stars

“The only two people on earth who had the power to crush me have chosen to exercise that power.”

This was my first read by AM Madden and it certainly won’t be my last, the blurb had me at childhood sweethearts and baseball...I was sold.

These two characters had one of those forever friendships and their lives had progressed with each other at the forefront of each other’s thoughts and actions, these two were inseparable. After becoming neighbours at five years old they became friends, then they became best friends and then finally they became lovers. Having spent most of their life together they truly epitomised the words “soul mates.” They knew each other inside out, they could read each other like a book, they knew each other’s idiosyncrasies, they knew each other’s likes and dislikes but most of all, they had that all-compassing love, together they were blinkered, they only had eyes and love for each other.

Annie was such a beautiful character inside and out. She was really sweet, loyal, loving, giving and totally supportive of Quint. She had followed his baseball career since the beginning and was also his biggest and most vocal cheerleader. Quint though was quite sensible, rather than going pro while still at college he decided to get his degree first and then see what baseball had to offer when the time was right for him and Annie, it didn’t take long for Quint to get the opportunity of a life time.

“Of course, I know he loves me. But I always wonder if it came down to baseball or me, which would he choose?”

Quint was baseball bred through and through, he idolised the sport and loved playing it and he was darn good at it too. Once again AM Madden had created the perfect character with Quint, he was adorable, his love and passion for Annie was off the charts, he worshipped her and idolised her, he put her first and foremost but he was also a total upstanding kind of guy. He was so romantic you couldn’t help but swoon; these two really were the perfect couple.

“Every move he makes is synchronized, reactive. The music that moves him comes in the form of the loud crack of a bat when it makes contact with a ball...or the hissing of air as a ball shoots towards him. He makes it look artistic and choreographed. Watching my man playing baseball is awe-inspiring ...and hot as hell.”

Life always throws its curveballs and this couple had a huge one to contend with. Sometimes what life throws at us can either make us or break us and this was the kind of struggle that this couple now had to deal with. We all deal with life’s challenges differently, but with love and good support network you can overcome most things. Quint and Annie had the biggest support network but will that be enough?

“The ache I feel for her outmeasures any physical pain I’ve endured. It’s a million times more painful.”

This book was perfectly balanced with lots of love, friendships and steam balanced with its fair share of angst, emotion and turmoil. This book had me running the gamut of emotions with both tears of happiness and sorrow. You couldn’t help but connect with these characters and when they hurt I hurt and when they loved I loved, this is testament to AM Maddens writing prowess because she truly brought these characters to life. I have read so many sports related books now in this genre but with this book I actually felt I was there, I was in the stadium, I was watching the game, I was supporting and cheering along with the next person, I was totally wrapped up in this book and I couldn’t put it down. I love it when an author manages to do that through the magic of words, it is an extremely powerful talent.

“You and I are solid. Tornados can easily destroy a weak foundation that wasn’t built to withstand it. I dare anyone to try and take us down.”

I cannot wait to read another book from this author, if this is a sign of things to come; I may only have time to come up for air.

Excerpt:

“I need a drink,” I mutter to no one in particular.

Adam Reynolds must hear me complaining because he places what I assume is a Jack and Coke in my empty hand.

“Here you go, mate.” He grins and I can’t help but smile back. The man’s enthusiasm is infectious.

Gavin, the sourpuss, is currently glaring at me from across the room. So much for us being an item. In the car, Gavin’s excitement at pretending to be boyfriends to lure out his stalker and the accompanying smile he gave had me sprouting questionable wood for most of the drive. Now he’s reverted right back to being a little shit. Hot and cold.

“Thanks, but I’m working—”

“I’ll take it, honey.” Gavin swoops in, steals the glass, and downs half of it before I can blink. I stand there, paralyzed, while I watch his pink lips caress the edge of the glass. “Thanks, dear,” he snaps, pulling me from my gawking. Before I can reply he turns and stomps off to pout somewhere.

I’m annoyed at his attitude and the distance he’s kept between us tonight. What. The. Hell. No way is he going to up and disappear on me at another party. Especially after we paraded ourrelationship in front of the media to lure his stalker out of the shadows.

“Sorry guys,” I apologize to Adam and his wife, Ellie. I was happy to finally meet them both after everything Gemma had told me about the couple when I gave her Adam’s phone number last year. Now I have to cut our conversation short because of yet another Gavin Walker temper tantrum.

Weaving through the crowd at the club, I follow Gavin to the back hallway that houses the kitchen and bathrooms. Once I’m out of sight of the other guests, I grab a shocked Gavin’s upper arm and shove him into the men’s room.

“Hey! Quit being an asshole!” Gavin wrenches out of my grip, turning to sneer. “I’ll put you on your knees again, Hale!”

The thought of being on my knees in front of Gavin sends a flush of heat up my body. I can feel the fire in my cheeks and by the way Gavin’s eyes widen, I’m betting he can see it too.

“I’m not the one behaving like a brat!” I growl in a low voice. Ducking, I check to make sure no one else is in the stalls. Once I’ve made sure it’s clear, I lock the bathroom door.

“Brat?” Gavin shouts. “I’m a brat?”

“Yes, you’re a brat. Ever since we had our picture taken outside, you’ve been unbearable to be around!”

“You’re not the one whose entire life was just turned upside down out there!” he yells.

I step closer, more furious than I’ve ever been. “Are you kidding me? You are so unbelievably self-centered!” Those damn hypnotizing full lips fall open in shock. “I was just outed too, and I’m not even fucking gay!”

Without thinking, I grab either side of his head, digging my fingers into that thick, blonde hair, and crush my mouth over his.

And it’s the hottest kiss of my life.

Just, damn.
