“I wasn’t used to a man who had
nothing to offer but himself and yet he gave it so freely…”
Kendall Ryan delivers a quick, cute, romantic read with Sexy
Stranger. The read was effortless as the pages turned and I was swept away in
the story of Charlotte and Luke. Yes, this was a little instalove but hey, this
is romantic fiction and it can and does happen.
“You forgot about them yet?”
“Baby, they were never even a
memory.”
Charlotte is a runaway heroine who is desperate to leave the
life she once lived. Crossing country to meet up with her best friend, her car
breaks down in a small town, just her luck. Charlotte feels incredibly out of
place, but makes the most of a bad situation.
Luke is a whiskey drinker and maker as he and his brother
run the company that his family left behind. Luke takes his job seriously and
is extremely passionate in everything that he puts his mind to. I loved Luke from
the very beginning, highly protective of his heart and his family and desperate
to make the family’s whiskey a winner.
“We couldn’t be more different,
but our bodies didn’t care. The chemistry zipping between us fuelled an
attraction that grew with every barb we lobbed at each other. He was fun and
challenging in a way that was entirely new.”
When these two first cross paths the meet is less than
harmonious, misunderstandings and misconceptions were rife. The banter between
these two though was hilarious and really set the stage for what was gearing up
to be an intense love/hate relationship. In the beginning, they do take it slow
(for a few days) but it isn’t long before these two heat up between the sheets,
both desperate to forget their past and trying not to dwell on their
non-existent future.
“If I were being honest, I wanted
her to leave a piece of herself behind too. Something for me to remember and
hold on to when I thought about what could have been between us. You know…if we
weren’t totally wrong for each other.”
I loved the chemistry between these two and while everything
happens quickly it made for some fun, swoony, romantic and entertaining reading.
Love finds you when you least expect it, it is up to you to grab it with both
hands. Another fab read from Kendall Ryan.
