bad deeds.”
Wow, Lisa Renee Jones certainly grabs the reader in the
third book of this unputdownable series. The author starts as she means to go
on with one intense, suspenseful ride and don’t get me started on the ending.
This book was INTENSE, my heart was in my mouth for the majority, there were so
many shifts in dynamics, some for the better some for the worse. Who to trust,
who to trust, who to trust. Damn, so INTENSE. However, our hero and heroine are
stronger than ever and the progression in their relationship only gave me a
smile from ear to ear. Shane and Emily are one formidable team and this was a
true test of their relationship, the trust they have in one and other, but more
importantly just having that one person who will always stand by your side,
pick you up when you are down and tell you how it is.
Shane is the one flying the flag for honesty and integrity
and it is he that is dead set on restoring the family name and removing all trace
of the drug cartel from his family’s business. With hostility at every turn,
even amongst family, Shane’s back is to the wall, but being the lawyer that he
is, he plays the game and he plays it even better surrounded by his team and
Emily.
Corporate corruption is rife, not only in the Brandon
company but with some of his major investors too, everyone has their own agenda
and sometimes never the twain shall meet. It’s all about money, greed,
manipulation and deceit, especially with regards to the Martina cartel.

The growth in Derek, Shane’s brother, in this book was so
incredibly welcome, just when I thought this man was irredeemable Lisa Renee
Jones finally gives us a glimpse behind the man and I loved what I saw. Derek
is a complex creature, stubborn, bloody minded and it seems his father’s
puppet. While he has been an ignorant ass up until this point, with a woe is me
attitude, he finally sees the wood for the trees in this book and maybe he is
not as bad as he seems. After all is said and done, I hope that Lisa Renee
Jones regales us with his own book, because colour me intrigued.

mine. And then we’ll see which one of us fucks each other/ Goodnight, brother.”
We get to see the other side of Shane in this book, the protector,
the enforcer, the win at all costs mentality even if that means crossing
proverbial lines. Shane shows his darker side while trying to toe the legal
line, but sometimes lines get a little blurry and smudging them is a life or
death decision. Emily really stands up for herself in this book, she made her
presence felt in so many ways and her constant request for honesty leads her
into some tenuous situations. However, Shane finally sees the clout she has and
utilises her more than he would like, but she gets results.

hiding from me.”
This series is going from strength to strength and I cannot
wait for The End Game, I only hope that Lisa Renee Jones has her speedy typing
fingers going a mile a minute because I am desperate, seriously desperado. The
crescendo is building perfectly and that inevitable climax is on the precipice.
The intensity of this book is second to none and with all the players playing
their trump card who will win in the end? Give me The End Game now, pretty
please with a cherry on top.

“What is in your head right now?” His eyes heat, darken. “You. Always.” He inches back and looks at me. “You’re mine. Mine to protect.” His voice is low, fierce, and he grips my panties and yanks them away. “Mine to fuck.” I gasp and grab his shoulders. “Shane.” His answer is to wrap his arm around my waist, pull me close, his cheek against mine, his fingers pressing into the V of my body. “Wet, just the way I like you,” he says, pressing two fingers inside me. “Wet for me. I stiffen while his fingers and tongue tease, please, and then I jerk, I’m over it, tumbling in an instant into shudders and shakes. Shane’s lips lift from mine as he breathes with me. His fingers slow as he eases me through the waves until I collapse against his chest. He tangles his fingers in my hair and drags my mouth back to his. “And no one but me will ever make you come like that again,” he declares, the waves of his emotions beating down any embarrassment I might feel over having had an orgasm on his father’s desk. “No one has ever made me feel what you make me feel, Shane.”
