We are beyond thrilled to share the cover of Luke's Absolution by K.L. Kreig, the third book in the Colloway Brothers series. This is a standalone that is full of serious heat and tons of spark - it's coming on March 28, 2016!

Book Description:

Demons. Regrets. Absolution.

Luke has lived on the wrong side of the law since he was seventeen. His hands are stained and his soul is black, but the worst sin he's committed is falling in love with his brother’s girl. Then he met her. Addy Monroe is pure, innocent and stubborn as an ox. Even though he doesn’t deserve her, Luke will stop at nothing to have her. But just when happiness is within his grasp fate rips her away, reminding him once again that there is no absolution for sinners. Will Luke be able to let color fill his blackened soul?

From the first time Addy saw Luke Colloway over ten years ago she wanted him. Addy has been attracted to rough, crude, inked bad boys with a bike planted securely between their thighs and wicked promises falling from their lips her entire life. Every one of them has let her down. Every one of them has broken her heart. Every one of them has put her second. She's never going to let that happen again. When Luke promises her a future, will Addy let him in only to have her heart broken again?

Book 3 in a 4 book series. Each book features a different brother and each can be read as a STANDALONE. To get the full Colloway Brother experience, however, it's most enjoyable to read in order.

***Mature readers only, 18+. Features alpha men with foul language and penchant for hot sex.

Excerpt:

There is finality to the sound of the door closing behind her. A sort of tormenting peace knowing the end has come. It’s not like I should have expected things to go on this way for long. How could they?
I stare holes in the walls as if I can still see her, the one woman I let in.
Sweeter than peach cobbler, she hardly has a bad thing to say about anybody—until now. Her parting description of me, beginning with ass and ending with hole, reverberates through my hollow heart, as I stand here rooted to my spot. I’m not even shocked, as this isn’t the first time I’ve been on the receiving end of that sentiment. I’m only surprised because I don’t think I’ve ever heard her so much as mutter a single curse word before. And the first time I do, it’s aimed squarely at me.
My hands tighten around a tumbler filled with amber liquid before I toss back its contents hoping for oblivion or something close to it. This road is so familiar. Only this time is different. I never cared like I do now. She means more to me than a quick fuck. Hadn’t I been about to tell her just that? How could things have gone wrong so fast?
Don’t be a dumbass. You can still fix this.
Instead, I stubbornly stay embedded to my spot because nothing can change the outcome. It’s a truth she and I know will haunt me until my last breath. And it’s created a wall between us I’m unable to climb … even if you gave me a damn ladder.
I’ve never been much of a risk-taker when it comes to matters of the heart. I can fill a bank account with a number having many zeros behind it from my astute choices in the market. But I can’t be a man a woman stays with. Hadn’t I warned her about that too?
Unable to see past my own shitty existence, I long for her to come back. I want to believe it’s all been some kind of mistake and I can forget what I know to be true. As the seconds continue to tick by, the inevitability that things are really over sinks in. My window of opportunity quickly closes as fast as her car door slams and the engine fires to life.
She’s so close, yet miles away. The longer I let the minutes expand between us I know distance won’t make the heart grow fonder. But maybe it’s for the best. Love, or whatever masquerades as it, just isn’t enough for the dirty, fucked up truth. Right when things were better than I ever expected, facts messed it up.
Groaning, I launch the crystal glass worth a small fortune at the door I can’t seem to force myself towards. A beautiful show of light plays off the shards as they cascade down in an explosion of fireworks. Visually, it’s what I feel inside as desolation constricts and then obliterates my chest because the best thing I ever had is gone … leaving me with only the certainty I’m meant to be with her.
I love you, I whisper for the first time and in place of goodbye. She left me and will never hear it. I can only pray we both survive what’s to come.

About the Authors:

A.M. HARGROVE

One day, on her way home from work as a sales manager, A. M.
Hargrove, realized her life was on fast forward and if she didn’t do something
soon, it would quickly be too late to write that work of fiction she had been
dreaming of her whole life. So, she rolled down the passenger window of her
fabulous (not) company car and tossed out her leather briefcase. Luckily, the
pedestrian in the direct line of fire was a dodge ball pro and had über quick
reflexes enabling him to avoid getting bashed in the head. Feeling a tad guilty
about the near miss, A. M. made a speedy turn down a deserted side street
before tossing her crummy, outdated piece-of-you-know-what laptop out the
window. She breathed a liberating sigh of relief, picked up her cell phone, called
her boss, and quit her job. Grinning, she made another call to her hubs and
told him of her new adventure (after making sure his heart was beating properly
again).

So began A. M. Hargrove’s career as a Naughty and Nice Romance Author.
Her books include the following: Edge of Disaster, Shattered Edge and Kissing
Fire (The Edge Series); The Guardians of Vesturon Series (Survival,
Resurrection, Determinant, reEmergent, and Beginnings); Dark Waltz, Death
Waltz, Tragically Flawed (Tragic 1), Tragic Desires (Tragic 2), Exquisite
Betrayal, Dirty Nights; and lastly Freeing Her, Freeing Him, and Kestrel—all
part of the Hart Brothers Series.

Other than being in love with writing about love,
she loves chocolate, ice cream, and coffee and is positive they should be added
as part of the USDA food groups.

Our Review:

Reviewed by Donna ~ 4 stars
***ARC received for an honest review***

“Isn’t time supposed to heal all wounds?”

Is there no end to the talent of Debra Anastasia? From the Paranormal Seraphim series, to the dark and gritty Poughkeepsie series and then to the hilarious and down-right filthy Gynazule series, Debra Anastasia now brings us a raw, gripping, emotional story with a slight fantasy element. The Revenger was not what I expected, but none the less I was pleasantly surprised and couldn’t put it down.

“I’m a mom without a reason. I’m a person without a life. I’m dead with no escape.”

The heroine of this story is Savvy. Savvy is at her very lowest ebb having lost everything in the world that mattered to her. Her husband and daughter were tragically killed in a car accident and she has the hugest dose of survivor’s guilt. Savvy just wants to die so that she can be with her family once again, but with her brother staying with her to keep her on the straight and narrow he won’t let her give in. The Revenger begins one year after the accident.

“Every morning, I get hit by a truck. Every afternoon, my mind gets to take a bath in lava. Every night is so black. I don’t want to be here without them.”

The accident that Savvy and her family were involved in was with a chemical tanker and Savvy had been exposed to the liquid before the tanker had exploded. So far she has not had any symptoms coming from that exposure but having decided to take her own life once again she soon finds that it may be harder than she first anticipated and maybe that chemical was having an effect on her body after all.

I don’t want to go into any details as you should really read this for yourself and see how Savvy comes to be The Revenger. This book, as I said does have a fantasy element to it but none more so than some cartoons that I had read and watched as a child and while probably unlikely in the real world did not stretch my imagination that much and is definitely a possibility seeing as chemical warfare is becoming something that hits the headlines on a more regular basis these days. But this side of the story is not really what this book is about but is more a means to an end to deliver the real moral of this story.

Good vs evil is always a winning message and I could really see this book on the big screen as one of those action packed movies that keeps you glued to your seat as you munch your way through a bucket of popcorn. Savvy gets rewarded for ridding the world of bad and even more so for turning the bad to good. With auras as her guiding light her fight is fierce and nothing more gives her hope for her future and her end goal. With mob bosses at the forefront of her fight you always know that it is going to be an uphill struggle but Savvy is determined, sassy and takes no crap, no matter how scary the adversary and with very little regard for her own life. Think the Mrs of Mr & Mrs Smith on speed and in killer heels.

“Her eyes were her gauge, so it seemed – windows to the soul and all that. And her soul was crumbling without the hits from her people on the other side.”

Debra Anastasia introduces some great side characters that have a huge part to play in the story and each one brings something different but gives depth to this action packed read. I adored Boston and was desperately hoping for an outcome that I knew was not within the realms of possibility, however, it didn’t stop me from wanting. There was always an inevitable end to this story but none the less, knowing did not lessen the emotional impact. But kudos to Debra Anastasia for delivering it with honesty and sticking to her guns. Savvy was a woman on a mission and at the end of the day she achieved her goals with venom and flair, she was a force to be reckoned with, she reduced grown men to tears but she definitely goes out with a bang. Long live Savannah Raine.

“Patience is a virtue.”
“But vengeance is a bitch.”

Excerpt:

In his dimly-lit kitchen, Finn lays a comforting hand on my shoulder. “I have to tell you something.”

My hairline prickles. I can sense whatever he says will be heavy, and I’m not sure I want to hear it. I force a crooked smile that probably looks as awkward as I feel. Since I just fed Ginger, I joke, “What? I smell like dog food?”

“I want to kiss you,” he says without missing a beat. “I won’t, but I just thought you should know.”

My stomach drops as if I’m in free fall. I bite my lip involuntarily, then release it, afraid it’ll look like an invitation. Can he really come out and say that? Without prompting, without wavering? You can want to kiss someone and not say it. Should I be angry he confessed that? I’m not. I’m curious. Stirred, even. And because we’re being honest, I ask what I want to ask. “Why?”

“Why do I want to kiss you? Or why did I tell you?”

My heart rate picks up. I lose my nerve. “The second one. That’s not the kind of thing you just come out and say to a stranger. A married stranger.”

“I like you.” He absentmindedly caresses the nape of my neck with his fingertip. “So I want to be honest.”

I put my hand over his wrist, and he stops. Now, and for the last hour, it’s as if we’re the only two people on the planet. The Bad Wife and the Stranger. If I let him kiss me, nobody would ever know. After all, Nathan might be kissing someone else too. Why else would he have lipstick on his tie? Finn doesn’t wear lipstick. Neither do I. It would be our secret.

“You’re leaving, aren’t you?” he asks.

Am I? I have to. I don’t trust myself to stay, and I don’t trust myself to speak, so I nod. I don’t have to pull his hand away. He takes it back willingly. And he walks me to his door.

Our Review:

Reviewed by Shirley ~ 4.5 stars
***ARC received for an honest review***

Thinking Jillian had finished the Hell to Pay series up pops this sensual little gem of a novella. Set in the 1960's and 70's it takes me back to that terrible time in history of the Vietnam war through to the psychedelic times of the 70's when drugs were sold virtually on street corners and were taken much more freely than they ever are today.

The male character Captain Barnaby Blackstone is again one of the Indebted to the evil spawn of Hell Jerahmeel. Born in 1553 always having to do his masters bidding he now finds himself in Saigon, slaking the need of the dreaded knife that Jerahmeel has given him all those years ago.

The bright spot in this blighted life he has to lead is a certain beautiful angel in the form of Jane Larsen, who works for the American Embassy as a linguist manning the phones there. Over the weeks Barnaby has got to know Jane through their mutual love of the modern music of the day. He is drawn to her in some inexplicable way, for when he is in her company he almost feels human again and not the immortal killer that he really is.

This one night Barnaby's sixth sense was on overload. He had to get back to the Embassy. He finds Jane on her own in the office listening to all the chatter coming through her headphones. He felt he had to get her out of there. It was screaming in his head and then it happened all hell let loose.

Trying to get Jane to safety they landed up in a supply cupboard hiding from the enemy soldiers. It was there that the mutual attraction that they both shared turned to lust when the feeling of immediate danger had passed.

It started when Barnaby took Jane in his arms just to comfort her when he felt her shivering beside him, but then it turned into a hungry kiss of passion to a blaze with them needing to sate the need that was building up through that kiss

“As he brushed a finger over her core, he absorbed the surprised gasp with his mouth. She was eager for him if her pelvis rocking against his hand was any indication.”

Soon they were brought back to earth as danger was still all around them but Barnaby managed to get Jane safely away. Jane thought she would never see him again until his last words to her was

"I will find you."

The book then takes you forward to the 1970's and Jane is working for the D.E.A. She finds herself in a lot of trouble in the company of a cult leader called Thompson who she had infiltrated working under-cover to find enough evidence against him.

The story takes you through everything this beautiful woman has to endure under the hands of this evil man to when she wakes up in a psychiatric ward in such unbearable pain.

Dreaming of Barnaby in her drugged state was she hallucinating seeing his startling blue eyes through the window on the hospital door. "Was she?"

What a great little story this is. You have to feel for poor Jane. I am sure that this was not what she bargained for when she signed up. I feel that Jillian has left the ending of this story open. I wonder?

PROLOGUE

I was mad at the world, at the whiskey for not being strong enough, at the drugs for not lasting long enough, at the fucking whores I banged for not getting me off when it was my fault my dick was fucking useless after a bucket of fucking blow. I went so far as to be pissed at random people on the street for laughing or smiling when I felt like I’d never be able to smile or laugh again.

How dare they?

How fucking dare they be move on with their lives like my friend hadn’t just died.

I was on the verge of losing what little sanity I had left when I rode out of Logan's Beach and set off to find a place, or places, where I could numb myself against the feelings that followed me from town to town, cheap motel to cheap motel, girl to girl, high to fucking high.

Then, this pink haired girl from the past came barreling into my life and it was like for the first time, I’d found a purpose. A real genuine purpose and not just some shit Chop spewed out as orders that I and every other member of the Beach Bastards took as bible, but a true reason to live again.

To WANT to live again.

Someone to live for.

Ti was my chance at some sort of real happiness when Lord fucking knows I had no idea what that really was before her. The only glimpses of real genuine happiness I'd ever had came courtesy of Preppy, King, and of course Grace. Like when King tattooed us for the first time and we loved them, even though they were crooked and downright fucking awful. Like when Grace made me my very first birthday cake. Like the time King Prep and I sat at the top of the water tower and thought the world was ours to take.

Because at that time, it was.

Then there was Ti and my new happiness became the first time I saw her smile. The first time I kissed her. The first time I tasted her pussy by the fire. The first time she let me inside of her, shamelessly pushing through her virginity in a frantic need to make her mine.

Because that's what she was.

That's what she would always be.

And I will kill every motherfucker who dares to try and take her from me.

Mine.

Excerpt:

“My best pick up line?”
“Yep. Hit me with it,” I goad.
“You sure you can handle it, Matty boy?”
I chuckle at the challenge. “Bring it on, Legs.”
“Still don’t get the legs thing,” she mutters.
“It’s because every time I see them I imagine them wrapped around my head.”
She chokes down the phone and then the line goes eerily quiet.
“Mia?”
“I’m here. Just hitting pause on that mental image and saving it for later.” Now it’s my turn to swallow my tongue.
“Jesus, woman. Warn a guy before you throw out the Viagra lines.”
“What?” she says, choking down laughter.
“Words like that take a man from floppy to stabby in zero point five seconds.”
“What can I say, it’s a gift.”

Blog Tour, Excerpt & Review ~ We Were Here by Daisy Prescott

Book Description:

In the 90s …

texting involved paper and a pen …

… our selfies were Polaroids ...

… our favorite music was on mix tapes.

Sex was dangerous, music was raw, and falling in love felt nostalgic.

We were friends and lovers.

We thought we knew everything.

We knew nothing.

We were here.

Set in the early 1990s, a time before the internet, social media, and smart phones, We Were Here is the prequel to Geoducks Are For Lovers. This book can be read as a standalone.

"This story has it all! Just like a mixed tape; we get a dose of steamy romance, angsty ballads and sweet love songs woven together in a compelling, heartwarming and sometimes heartwrenching journey of self-exploration." Helena Hunting, New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author

Excerpt:

Maggie, Freshmen year

After being quizzed about the Dewey Decimal system, and failing, I returned to my room in shame. At this rate, if I wanted to work on campus, I’d be washing dishes in the dining hall. Nothing could be grosser than the used food and unclean dishes of thousands of college students. I gagged at the thought as I opened our door.
Inside, Jennifer—my perfectly nice and perfectly normal roommate—was straddling a guy on my desk chair, making out.
She might have been trying to eat his face. I couldn’t really tell in the two seconds I stared at them before clamping my eyes shut. I know I spied her tongue. Outside of her mouth. All I could see of him were his dark hair, long legs, and brown Wallabee boots.
Panicked about interrupting something, and simultaneously feeling like a prude, I backed my way through the open door. After it quietly clicked close, I pressed my head against the cool metal.
I could go back to the library, except I left there ten minutes ago. The dorm lounge was an option, but this time of day meant it would be filled with some random club. I couldn’t remember if Thursday’s meeting was German Lovers or Save the Geoducks—our school mascot. Neither appealed to me.
I stared harder at the painted metal, wishing the make-out session on the other side would end sooner rather than later.
“Are you locked out?” The blond guy from down the hall rested his head on the bulletin board next to my room. “Or are you praying?”
Pressing my cheek on the door, I twisted to see him more clearly.
“It’s okay if you are. Pray if you’ve got to.”
“I’m not. Just thinking.”
A loud moan sounded from inside the room. “Oh, oh, oh God.”
“Sounds like someone in there is praying.” His lips curled into a smile. “You might want to step away, lest someone think you’re a pervert for eavesdropping.”
I jumped away from the door. “I wasn’t listening!”
Chuckling, he held up his hands in defense. “Not judging you. Praying and voyeurism both have their places, usually in Madonna videos.”
Another not so soft groan carried from my room. I took a step farther away. My favorite black on black Swatch showed the time as four o’clock. Too early to go to dinner. Looks like I’ll be going to the lounge after all.
“You want to come hang out in my room until they finish whatever they’re doing in there?” His offer sounded genuine and his smile was more than friendly. He gestured over his shoulder to the open door across the hall and down a few rooms. “I can promise you my roommate isn’t in there making out with anyone. We should be safe.”

“Friendship before hormones.”

Daisy Prescott transported me back to the nineties in this prequel to Geoducks Are for Lovers. With song titles for chapter names I found myself singing along as I was treated to the trials and tribulations of several friends from their first till last year of college. For so many POV’s this book should have been confusing but the way that the story was set up and told made it understandable and was easy to follow although I will admit at times I was gutted when we moved from one person to another, I just wanted more of some of the character’s stories. However, there are the other books in this series that I have not read and those I cannot wait to read. So, if like me you haven’t read Geoducks Are for Lovers, don’t panic!! Put it this way, if it was not for an intense reading schedule I would be reading Geoducks right NOW!!

“Where there was hope, existed possibility. I’d been living in Hopeville for the last two years. Also known as the Land of Friends.”

I loved the nineties, they were my teenage years and do hold some fond memories, from mix tapes, to girlie nights with the Brat Pack and makeup sleepovers. For me this was a trip down memory lane and I had so many smiles and giggles as so many things brought back vivid memories and resonated deep within my own personal experiences. But seeing college life from start to finish with these characters was heart-warming and incredibly addicting.

“You’re stuck with me. I’m like gay glue.”

All the characters were your average Joe Blogs that were written with honesty and intense likeability and even though each person had their own section, in so few pages Daisy Prescott managed to give her character’s depth and absolutely nailed character connection. All characters appear throughout the entire book so you don’t lose them completely but the focus and emphasis moves from one to the other.

“When I grew up, I wanted to still be friends with these people. More than friends. We were family.”

From the first day of college, when you know no-one and are wandering around trying to find your place in the grand old scheme of things life has a way of throwing you a life line and sometimes they take the form of people, one person can make such a huge difference and these people were in the right place at the right time and forged such strong friendships, friendships that I can see lasting a life time.

This was a time when friendships were formed face to face rather than through Facebook and a smartphone, where people actually met up to talk and you actually socialised (shock horror!!). So whether you are young or old there is something for everyone, the youngsters needing a history lesson or us oldies just wanting to relive our youth once again.

“Doesn’t matter what the future holds for us. For now we’re here. In the moment. Together.”

So, now it looks like I have another three books to read as I desperately want to reconnect with these character twenty years on, will the romances started have the legs and will the ones that got away come back to haunt them. I have so many questions I need answers to as a non-reader of the series so far, however I could imagine that for those that have read this series this will add more depth and give you a greater understanding of how fantastic friendships were formed and stood the test of time.
