We will be heading to Edinburgh tomorrow ready for RARE and to get us in the mood, today we are featuring one of the authors who will be attending ~  J. Kenner.

J Kenner is the author of the Stark Series, which Donna totally loved, and the Most Wanted Series, which we are spotlighting today. But first we had a few questions for Julie:

What's your favourite thing about writing romance?
Getting to create fabulously sexy men … and then give them and an awesome heroine a happily ever after!

Do you consider kilts to be sexy?
Heck yes!

Are you willing to try haggis?
Absolutely!!!

If you had only one day in Edinburgh, how would you spend it?
Wandering the city streets taking photographs and soaking up the atmosphere…which I am really hoping to have time to do at the weekend!!

We look forward to meeting Julie at RARE and if you are attending don't forget to pop by her table and say hi!

 Most Wanted Series

Book 1 ~ Wanted

Book Description:

For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey, Bared to You, and Release Me comes an all-new erotic series of three enigmatic and powerful men, and the striking women who can bring them to their knees.

He is everything I crave, all I desperately want—and he is everything I can’t have.

Evan Black embodies my every fantasy. He is brilliant, fierce, and devastatingly handsome. But he is also headstrong, dangerous, and burdened with secrets.

My family warned me to stay away, that I could never handle Evan’s dark dealings or scarred past. Maybe I should have listened. Maybe I should have run. But our desire is undeniable, and some temptations you just can’t fight.

And from the moment we touch—the passion between us consuming us both—I know that I will never be the same.

Wanted is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

Book 2 ~ Heated

Book Description:

I knew better than to risk my heart.
But fierce passion comes at a high price.

I grew up believing in right and wrong, good and evil, black and white. I knew better than to trust. And then I met Tyler Sharp.

Bold, charming, and dangerously sexy, Tyler always gets what he wants. But his smile can be deceiving, his dealings sordid, his ambitions ruthless. I thought I was the one woman strong enough to resist him, but our need for each other was too urgent to deny.

One look and I was in trouble. One touch and I was hooked. One night and I became his.

And now that I’ve fallen, there’s no going back.

Heated is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

Coming in September ~ Book 3 ~ Ignited

Book Description:

He promised to take me as far as I could go—and I wanted to go to the edge.

My whole life has been a cover, a con, a lie. I was born into the grift, raised on the thrill of playing someone I’m not. As a rule, I never let anyone get too close—until Cole August makes it impossible for me to stay away.

Cole is tough, sexy, and intensely loyal, yet his secrets are dark and his scars run deep. Not many women can handle his past, or the truth behind his fierce demands. But something about him beckons me—and our desire is a game I must play.

I know he’s dangerous, that even his touch is trouble, but what is passion without a little risk?

Ignited is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

Sale Blitz including Author Interview ~ Pulled Beneath by Marni Mann

Book Description:

What happens when you uncover years of secrets and find out everything you thought to be true was a lie?

Drew Stevens finds her world turned upside down when her parents are brutally murdered. Soon after, she learns she inherited a property in Bar Harbor, Maine, from recently deceased grandparents that she believed had died when she was a baby.

Drew travels north to settle her grandparents’ estate, but finds more questions than answers as the truth starts unraveling. What she didn’t expect to find was Saint, whose reputation is as tumultuous as his past. But the very thing that brings them together is the same thing that keeps them emotionally caged.

With Saint’s scars so deep and Drew’s so fresh, can the pair heal from their painful wounds or will they be pulled beneath the darkness of their pasts?

Author Interview:

First off, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m a New Englander at heart, though I now live in Florida. My husband and I have two dogs that absolutely run our lives. One sleeps on my head…the dog, not the husband. I love traveling, flip-flops, manicures, sexy words, chocolate and reading. My writing tends to be dark, emotional, and often extremely gritty. I enjoy tapping into topics that are difficult to discuss, but that people can relate to on some level.

Can you tell us something that not a lot of people know about you?
I eat a whole pineapple almost every day. It’s a strange addiction, I know.

Where did the idea for Pulled Beneath come from?
I’ve always been fascinated with the decisions people make when they’ve been affected by tragedy. Whether they reach for substances, communicate their feelings, or they bury into the deepest, darkest hole. When I decided to explore all three, Pulled Beneath was born.

How is Saint similar and/or different compared to other heroes in romance books?
Saint’s past is extremely harrowing and shadowy. His darkness is layered and within those layers he’s learned some valuable lessons, he just doesn’t realize their importance. He doesn’t set out to be the hero. He doesn’t even think someone like him could ever be a hero. But when he meets someone who is as emotionally damaged as him, he finds out those lessons can make a difference.

Tell us a little about your writing process. Any pre-writing rituals or routines?
Once an idea comes to me, things tend to move pretty quickly. I create a brief outline, which I share with my editor to make sure my points and loops all mesh, and then I start writing. It usually takes me about six weeks to finish the first draft. Music is always playing and the beats change for each book. Water, iced tea or Diet Coke is within reach.

When you create your characters do you ever put bits of either your personality or bits of personalities from people close to you?
Always. It happens naturally and I often don’t realize it until I finish the first draft. There’s a part of me in every heroine and I find myself revealing a bit more of my personality, my past and experiences with each book. I don’t write about people I know, I write about people I want to meet.

What are some good books you've read lately?
I’m obsessed with the Songs of Submission Series by C.D. Reiss. I also recently read Veiled Innocence by Ella Frank and I loved it. Actually, I love anything Ella Frank writes.

If you could collaborate with another author in writing a book, who would it be?
Tarryn Fisher. She has a brilliant mind and she’s an epic storyteller.

About the Author:

I’m a New Englander at heart and now a Floridian, inspired by the sandy beaches and hot pink sunsets of Sarasota. As a writer of erotic romance, new adult and literary fiction, I tap a mainstream appeal and shake worldwide taboos, taking my readers on a dark, harrowing, and breathtaking journey. When I’m not nose deep in my laptop, I’m scouring for chocolate, traveling, reading, or walking my four-legged children.

#NACrushTourney2014 #TeamArcherHale

Hi there, our names are Donna and Willow and we are from The Romance Cover. We are truly honoured to be chosen as the advocates for our perfect silent boy Archer Hale from Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan. Our blog has been running now for 14 months, although we have been friends for a lot longer, we actually met on an Amazon Chat Forum page where we daily conversed about our mutual love of books. We are both avid readers and bloggers and love what we do.

How could you not vote for Archer… just take a look at his bio:

Name:                                                        Archer Hale

Eye Colour:                                                Deep Whiskey Brown

Hair Colour:                                               Wavy brown

Build:                                                         Lean, muscular and toned

Height:                                                      6ft 2in

Distinguishing Features:                             Scar across his throat

Archer has some amazing attributes, he really is PERFECT…
Ardent – he is extremely passionate and fiercely protective, loves completely, a wounded healer.
Respectful – he sees the good in everybody, even if there is none to be found, he is humble, he has made the best of a bad hand.
Chivalrous – he is courageous, he is considerate, he is courteous and he is extremely loyal. He overcomes so much and really has to fight against adversity.
Honourable – he is honest, he has morals and principles, he is trust worthy and he has integrity, the world has not managed to sully our silent boy.
Empathetic – he is compassionate, he is extremely sensitive, wears his heart on his sleeve and there is a lot of heart there.
Romantic – this one speaks for its self, having no experience he just did what came naturally, bouquets of chocolates and sitting on a porch in a thunderstorm to protect his love are just two things that he did because he wanted to, because it felt right. He radiates romance, he gives completely, he really is that perfect.

He has many other fine attributes:-

· A hard worker

· He is pure

· Intelligent

· Protective

· Selfless

· He is the epitome of perfect, there is not one bad bone in his body, they broke the mould when they made Archer Hale.

Archer may be silent
But actions speak louder than words
His actions could move mountains
But his voice will never be heard

Archer may be silent
But he communicates through sign, through love and through his eyes
His heart is pure, his soul divine
Excels in all he tries

Archer may be silent
Forgotten, ignored, avoided, shunned, no-one ever tried
To communicate to befriend to love
He was left to his own devices, to be alone, unloved to hide

Archer may be silent
But Bree took that leap of faith and uncovered what was hidden
Archer Hale, the man, the friend, the lover, our perfect silent boy
She nurtured, befriended, communicated even though it was forbidden
Archer Hale, the man, the friend, the lover…enjoy

If you need convincing further, here is one of our favourite scenes…

“Archer was leaned back, looking at me as I stared at him. My heart started pounding as I took in his drenched form, his jeans and white t-shirt plastered to his body. Oh God , he must have walked here in the downpour. I only hesitated for a second before I hurried to the door and flung it open to the sound of the rain pounding the ground in front of my porch. A loud clap of thunder shook the cottage and I jumped slightly, causing Archer to take a step toward me. What are you doing here? I asked. You don't like thunderstorms, he answered. I tilted my head, confused. You walked a mile in the rain because I don't like thunderstorms? He hesitated for a second, looking away, frowning slightly. Then he looked back at me and said simply, yes. He paused, his expression pained. I know I'm probably the last person you want to see right now, but I just thought if I sat on your porch, you wouldn't be scared. You wouldn't be alone. Oh God. I couldn't help it, my face crumpled and I started to cry…for those few minutes, it was only me and him, and nothing else.”

Still not sure…

“I walked her to the front door and slid my flip flops on, noting that I needed to throw the rotting roses sitting on the table by my entry, into the garbage. When I opened the door, I immediately saw something sitting on the mat on my porch. Confused, I bent down and picked it up. I sucked in a breath and then started grinning. It was a "bouquet" of Almond Joy candy bars held together in the middle with a little piece of string, tied neatly in a bow. I turned it around in my hands, grinning stupidly, happiness blooming in my chest. I guessed this was an apology? Or… a gesture of friendship? What exactly did it mean? I groaned . This man! I laughed out loud, hugging the candy bars to me and then standing there grinning like a fool some more. Awkward boy. Sweet, silent Archer Hale.”

Surely you don’t need any further convincing…

“Not only did he know how to make me wild with desire with his hands and his tongue and his impressive male parts, but he knew that when he scratched the backs of my knees with his short fingernails, I would purr like a cat, and that it relaxed me entirely when he ran his fingers through my hair. It was as if my body was his instrument and he learned to play it so perfectly that the melody vibrated within my very soul. Not only because of the pleasure he brought, but because he cared so much to know every little thing about me. One day, he put a bowl of potato chips out while I was preparing us lunch and as I snacked on them, I noticed that they were all the folded ones that I loved , but usually had to hunt for. I looked down at the chips and then up at Archer, confused . "All these chips… they're all folded," I said, thinking I sounded crazy. Aren't those the ones you like? I nodded slowly, realizing that he had gone through several bags of chips to collect the ones I liked the best. And realizing that he had noticed that small fact about me at all, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. But that was just Archer. He wanted to please me, and he'd do anything in that effort.”

And finally…

“I'm here for you. I'm here because of you . I'm here because you saw me, not just with your eyes, but with your heart. I'm here because you wanted to know what I had to say and because you were right… everyone does need friends...and he raised his hands and signed, I Bree you, and I laughed and signed, I Archer you. God, I Archer you so much.”

Finally…acceptance…now please speak up for our silent boy…vote with your fingers. Vote for Archer Hale, he is so deserving, so pure, so perfect, the ideal NA Crush, the one man you wouldn’t be ashamed of taking home to meet the parents.

Guest Post from Molly McAdams

Brody Saco aka “the top of the triangle”

Oh, Brody, Brody, Brody. #Swoon (hopefully you’ll be saying the same thing when you read Sharing You) Brody is a character you might want to shake, but you can’t help but falling in love with. He’s been married to a woman for six years, but he fell out of love with her long before they married, and he’s more than positive that his wife never loved him. By trying to do the right thing by her, he ended up entering into a life that would slowly break him. His spirit, his fire for life, pretty much everything that makes Brody Brody has been dying since he married Olivia Reynolds. But he feels responsible for her, he feels like he owes it to her to take care of his wife who is only a shell of the girl he fell in love with in high school, and what kind of a man would he be if he left her? So every day he goes home to where his wife may or may not be, and stays on his side of the house to avoid her unless she’s having one of her psychotic fits ... we’ll call them “episodes” for now … and tries to remain calm as she blows through every dollar he makes as a police officer.

Despite how it sounds, Brody isn’t spineless. Something happened soon after they married that was enough to break him completely, and it had nothing to do with his wife—Olivia is just the added daily push. If you read Capturing Peace, you already know what that event was, if you haven’t … well you’ll find out quickly in Sharing You. On one of the very rare days that he’s able to get away from his wife to hang out with his brother and sister-in-law, he bumps into a girl who makes him feel alive for the first time in five years. A girl who makes him want to live, period. After running into her at random places, and thinking about nothing but her, he caves and goes to her bakery to find out what exactly it is about the girl.

He quickly finds out that life without Kamryn isn’t a life at all, and knows that without a doubt, he’ll do anything to be with her. It kills Brody that Kamryn is suffering through their relationship because of his marital status, but Brody quickly learns that leaving Olivia isn’t as easy as trying to find her help and filing for divorce—and he’ll do everything to keep the drama with his wife away from the woman he loves. Now that he’s paying attention rather than avoiding her, it’s evident that Olivia’s episodes are nothing more than the best pranks she’s ever pulled … and now he’s being threatened to stay with her. Brody never stops trying to find a way out of his manipulative marriage, but as time goes on, Kamryn starts to second-guess everything about their relationship since all she knows is that Brody is still married. And Brody’s constant fight to get away from Olivia and her family for a future with Kamryn, may prove to be too much when his world seems to come crashing down around him.

Molly’s Daily Question: What about Brody’s tug-o-war between a powerful family and the woman he loves are you looking forward to seeing the most in Sharing You?

SHARING YOU Excerpt: Part 2

The force of his kiss surprised me and a high-pitched moan slipped from my chest. Brody laughed softly as one of his hands left my hip and went to my back and under my shirt, his hand leaving a trail of fire on my skin.

Turning us so the backs of his legs were hitting the couch, I pushed back and followed him down, planting myself on his lap and stifling another moan when our new position had his erection pressing against me. Brody brought our mouths back together and when I rocked against his hard length, he took my bottom lip between his teeth and tugged gently. When he released me, I sat up straighter so my chest was directly in front of his face and went back to rolling my hips against him.

With a growl, he leaned forward and pulled the stretchy material of my tank top down to free my breasts and sucked one nipple into his mouth. I whimpered when he bit down before resuming his torturous licking; when my eyes were finally able to flutter open again, I looked down to see him looking up from under his dark eyelashes and goose bumps covered my body at the sight. It was strangely erotic and I couldn’t stop watching him tease my nipple now that I’d started. The hand that wasn’t caressing my breast was gripping my hip and I reached down to slide his fingers under the thin material of my shorts.

He released my breast with a soft pop and brought my face to his, staring intently in my eyes. “You sure you’re okay with this?”

I sat up on my knees, giving him better access, and leaned in to whisper, “I was stupid to think we could take it slow.” I pressed my lips softly to his once, but didn’t move away. “Don’t leave tonight, Brody, please. Stay with me.”

His response was to kiss me deeply while his fingers moved to stroke along my soft folds. “Christ, Kamryn,” he groaned, and slid one long finger deep inside me as his thumb rubbed against my clit, and I couldn’t stop the whimper that bubbled from my lips from having him touch me like this.
I ground my hips against his hand as he continued to move his fingers in a way I’d never experienced with Charles, not that Charles and I hadn’t done numerous sexual activities, but he was always pushing for the ones that benefited him, and sex with him didn’t last long; so more often than not, I ended up frustrated or excusing myself to the bathroom to finish myself. The muscles low in my stomach tightened, and my entire body was warming, I was close to begging him not to stop when he slipped a second finger inside and my body exploded. Hard. My head fell back as a breathy cry left me and I rode out wave after wave of the most intense orgasm I’ve ever had.

His fingers didn’t still, but softened and slowed as he pressed his lips against my throat. “You’re so beautiful.”

Bringing my head back down, I rested my forehead against his as I fumbled with the zipper and button on his uniform pants, my hands were shaking so much from the after effects of my orgasm it took two tries just to pull the zipper down; but the moment I finally succeeded, Brody’s hand left my shorts and his large fingers curled around my wrists.
