Friday Frights ~ PNR Review ~ Straight to Hell (Hell's Gate Book 1) by Jane Hinchey

Book Description:

Everything you think you know is about to change.
My name is Lucifer. You can call me Lucy – I’m also known as the Devil and Satan, though why my idiot brothers came up with those nicknames is beyond me. I’m an Arch Angel and I run Hell. Yup, I’m the CEO.

Hell is easy. Hell runs like a well-oiled machine. Punishment befitting your sins is carried out and once your sentence is done, voilĂ , you get to go to Heaven. Simple. Easy.

Until suddenly there’s a blip on the radar. A breach. Some numbnuts on earth are trying to open a portal to another dimension. A very bad, very terrifying, very deadly dimension. So instead of my simple life in Hell, I end up earth side, where nothing is as it seems, looking for the soul-stealing monster, avoiding the grumpy angel sent from Heaven and finding out my brothers Michael and Gabriel are twats. That last part’s not true – I’ve known they were twats all along.

With an unexpected fondness for my new human friends as a distraction, and my demonic presence stirring up a shit show of epic proportions, all I want to do is go back to my peaceful life in Hell. But someone has to save the world. It may as well be me.

Our Review:

Reviewed by Shirley ~ 5 stars

I've got to admit I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in a brand-new series. It’s a fun read but also has a compelling story and is a touch erotic.

Who would of thought that Lucifer is in fact a woman, whoa. Also, she is not only the evil person that everyone believed but is in fact a compassionate woman who cares about the human race.

Lucifer or Lucy as she likes to be called gets more than she bargained for when she came up to Earth. After finding out that a soul stealer has come through from another dimension, she finds he has already killed and was determined to stop him at all costs and send him back to where he belonged. This is how she meets Levi, handsome and sexy and Lucy falls hard.

After Levi gets over the shock when meeting Lucy for the first time and he explained who she was.

"You're...You're... a woman."
He blew out a surprised breath.
"Correct." Lucy says.

Working together to find the soul stealer the attraction between them gets hot even for a girl from Hell. So much so that it leaves Lucy baffled as to how strong her feelings were for a human and when Levi took her in his arms.

“He pulled me to a halt, and lowered his mouth to mine, fusing us together. He wrapped his arms around me, the hold tight, unyielding. The heat was blistering and surreal at the same time, and I felt it all the way down to my toes.”

With more hurdles to overcome, like having to eat like a human lol, Lucy comes up against animosity from a friend of old. Also, a brother out for vengeance.

Great read, loved every word. I couldn't put it down. Hate having to wait until January to how it all goes for Levi, but I'm sure it will be well worth the wait. Excellent book Ms Hinchey.

Cover Reveal ~ Hero (A Standalone Morgan Brothers Book) by Lauren Rowe

I LOVE THIS COVER and he is a real firefighter!!

Release Date: 12th March 2018

Book Description:

A standalone contemporary romance in the MORGAN BROTHERS SERIES from USA Today Bestselling Author Lauren Rowe. The story of firefighter Colby Morgan that proves heroes come in many forms . . .

The first time I laid eyes on Lydia Decker, I couldn’t speak. Or breathe. Or string two coherent thoughts together.
And I don’t mean any of that figuratively.
I’m not talking about a guy being floored by the sight of a gorgeous woman—although, of course, Lydia is gorgeous beyond words.
No, when I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker—my physical therapist—I was lying flat on my back in the ICU, high as a kite on painkillers, breathing on a ventilator, my bones as broken and splintered as my spirit.
When I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker, she was a ray of light in the dark. Hope for the hopeless. A salve for my singed and battered soul.
She said she’d been assigned to fix me. That she was there to bring me back to life. She said helping me was her calling.
And then she touched me. Physically, emotionally, spiritually. She healed me.
And I fell in love.
But what I didn’t know . . . what I couldn’t possibly know . . . was that Lydia Decker needed fixing far more than I ever did.

Our Review:

Reviewed by Donna ~ 5 stars
***ARC received for an honest review***

“I always think making friends as an adult is hard, but finding someone to spend the rest of your life with, now that’s the ultimate challenge.”

Meghan Quinn is one author I can guarantee will make me laugh, even if she doesn’t mean to and while Three Blind Dates is a Rom-Com the laughs were plentiful, the swoon factor was ever present and the plot was addictive and unputdownable. Meghan Quinn is one of my one click authors, no matter the book she always seems to tick all my boxes and once again she has hit the jackpot, 5 glorious stars. Our heroine is in a position a lot of us will have experienced, single, getting older, wants to settle down and yet cannot find the time or any decent men to dip her toe into the dating pool again. With a new app on the market that guarantees to find you “your one” was an opportunity that she could not turn down and so begins her Three Blind Dates.

“But I want our match to be close with a little bit of wiggle room for some give and take, because what’s love without a little bit of compromise, without being able to adapt to your partner and love what they love? It’s the people in our life who mold us, and I’m far from being molded completely.”

Noely is a co-host on morning TV and between work, her schedule and the fact she is well known, she still finds herself one hundred percent single. Wanting more from her single existence, when the app “Going in Blind” goes live she sees this as her opportunity to find her love of a life time and with the app setting up the dates, basing matches on compatibility, both emotionally and on personality and boasting a high success rate, she goes all in.

“I want to be cherished, for someone to call me his own. And I want to give myself to that someone for as long as we both shall live. I want to be in love.”

Noely finds herself on three blind dates, we have The Suit, The Rebel and The Jock. I am not going to go into the dates or anything as you need to read how each pans out and the fun and shenanigans that each entail, but for once, I was on the winning team.

“Three men. Three perfectly matched men. Three perfectly matched, handsome, amazing men…”

As ever, Meghan Quinn brings her own brand of humour to Three Blind Dates and writes a story that any single woman, both past and present, can relate to. This book was full of fun, wit and was downright swoon worthy as three men, that were all amazing in their own right, fight for their chance to make Noely, their one.

“Look,” I press my pelvis against Natasha’s and pull away. “My V just touched Natasha’s V, but did we share a sweaty night together? No it was just a little V tap.”
“A vag high five.” “Exactly.” I point at Natasha. “A little chest bump but with our lady bits.”

With some great secondary characters that will literally have you peeing yourself laughing, I loved everything about this book and the fact that the two men that didn’t get the girl get their own book is music to my ears. With this dating app, I cannot wait to see who these amazing guys end up with.

“You want your forever.”
“Yeah, I want my forever.”
