The Secret of Ella and Micha by Jessica Sorensen

Ella and Micha have been best friends since childhood, until one tragic night shatters their relationship and Ella decides to leave everything behind to start a new life at college, including Micha. But now it's summer break and she has nowhere else to go but home. Ella fears everything she worked so hard to bury might resurface, especially with Micha living right next door. Micha is sexy, smart, confident, and can get under Ella's skin like no one else can. He knows everything about her, including her darkest secrets. And he's determined to win back the girl he lost, no matter what it takes.

This is the story of Ella and Micha. As kids they lived next door to each other and were best friends. The friendship line however starts to blur. One night something happens to Ella and She decides that she needs to leave. Not before she finally kisses Micha though. She doesn't tell anyone where she is going (except her dad) and just disappears without a word.

8 months later, which is when the book takes place Ella has to return home, but she's not the girl she used to be and has no desire to reconnect with Micha. Micha on the other hand has spent the last 8 months trying to contact Ella.
The story is about Ella dealing with her past, including that night 8 months ago and her family, Micha dealing with his own problems and Ella and Micha's relationship.

Micha is a tattooed, lip pierced, musician, kinda of a bad boy who wants to carry on with Ella where they left off.
Ella finds it difficult letting people in and wants to get away from her past and old life so has changed herself into the complete opposite of what she was before she left.

I enjoyed this book. I found it a quick read. Read it one sitting so it obviously kept me entertained but I haven't given it 5 stars as I found it lacked something for me, but I don't know what. I found the inclusion of one character a bit odd as I didn't really see what the point was of him was. As for the name of the book I kept wondering why the book was called the secret of Ella and Micha and although this was explained at the end of the book, I didn't really feel that it fit.

I will be reading the next book, which continues Ella and Micha's story because Jessica has left you wanting to know more about where these characters go from here.
