Friday Frights ~ PNR ~ Lone Wolf Rising (The Winters Series 1) by Jami Brumfield

This is a really great romantic story with lots going on in it. The main character in the book is Rebecca who lives with her grandmother, her twin sister Savannah and her younger brother Hunter. They came to live with their grandmother after the death of their parents, 10yrs previous. Because Rebecca or Becca for short, couldn't come to terms with the death of her parents, or how they died she came to the life changing decision to become a wolf in her local Arizona wolf pack, and that is where our story begins.

Due to the annihilation of her pack, Becca finds herself in the position of being Alpha and all that entails she is feeling totally out of her depth and then, not one but two gorgeous males come into her life.

First was Lucien, nicknamed Lucky, a Nephilium who was to become her protector and then later, Gabriel appeared who is a wolf and who wanted Becca for himself, both these men were gorgeous in their own right, verrry sexy.

Although Lucky was her protector and pretend boyfriend enabling him to keep her safe, there was a budding attraction between them, which was leaving them hard to control themselves to the extent when in the car…

“Her fingers wrapped around his neck and pulled him closer. Somehow the centre as the console was removed, and so was the file as his lips moved against hers in a dance of need that had been building up all day. He wrapped his fingers around her waist and pulled her gently into his lap.”

Becca had a lot to learn and also coming to terms with hearing her very bossy Alpha wolf which constantly was giving her grief in her head. What with her life completely turned upside down the last thing she needed was another male, Gabriel in fact, who informed her that she was his mate no less, grrrr, but he was one very hunky wolf and Becca couldn't help feeling drawn to him. Confusing much!

"I don't care if I have to wait for you to realize that we belong together. Your body already responds to my touch. He placed a hand on her heart and it raced faster in response.

"Your wolf hears mine and accepts me." He growled his appreciation and Rebecca feared her knees would go weak at the wave of passion that flooded her. He crushed his lips to hers again and she responded, opening fully to his bittersweet invasion.”

All this was so confusing to Becca how can be attracted to two men, help! But there were much bigger problems facing Becca and they were going to hit her very soon.

Ms Brumfield this is a brilliant book. I loved all the characters in the making of this book especially Rebecca. I wish her good luck with her dilemma with not one but two very hunky men, if only we could be so lucky ha ha. I am looking forward to reading book 2.
