Series: Bliss #4
Author: BJ Harvey
Release Date: June 16, 2015

The End of an Era
They call me the walking dildo.
Gratifying? Yes.
Something my mother would be proud of? Hell no!
Watching my best friend and my old friend-with-benefits blissfully walk down the aisle has just reiterated the fact that I’m thirty and perpetually single.
I thought I’d found the woman I wanted to spend my life with, you have to open your eyes to realize that it’s never gonna happen.
Funny how meeting the right person can finally make you see sense.
My name is Noah Taylor: kickass trauma surgeon, closet idealist, wishful thinker, and all round cocky asshole, and this is the year my life will change for the better.
*Disclaimer: This book features hot sex, filthy language, misuse of on-call rooms and the overdue redemption of the fake orgasm*

Excerpt:
Noah
“I got a text from Dan warning me that you might be a little drunk.”
“I’m a lot drunk, but that’s not the point. I’m not sure I can be with you anymore.”
He freezes mid step, and turns to face me at the same time as swinging my body around to meet his, chest to chest. “Say that again. I think you lost me.”
Because I’m drunk and although— in my mind — I’m telling myself that I deserve a lifetime of orgasms and I need to break up with him, I wind my arms around his neck and pull myself hard against him. His hands drop to my hips and hold me hostage as his eyes bore down into mine, obviously waiting for me to explain. “See, we got talking and Mac said she had to fake an orgasm with you, and I can’t live without orgasms. I like having orgasms. They’re fun and good for me, and they make me a very happy girl, so I need to have orgasms and if you’re just giving me your A game to lure me in and then you’re going to switch to your C or D game soon, which would suck—although Kate said the C game can be fun if you do it right . . . anyway, I need you to promise me a life full of lots and lots of orgasms or else I can’t go out with you anymore.”
Then I’m stopped by his lips hitting mine, his tongue delving into my mouth when it opens on a gasp of shock. He takes his time, he does the job right, and when he pulls back and nuzzles my neck, I’ve sagged against him and my hands are gripping into the back of his head as if my whole life depends on it.
“Are you going to start back up again, or do I need to put something in your mouth to stop you from spouting this shit?”
“It’s not shit. I need org—” He cups my jaw and kisses me long and deep, and with lots of effort on his part, and mine once I get past the shock of him shutting me up with his mouth for the second time in as many minutes.
“Now that we’ve established that you’re not breaking up with me, or going anywhere else other than my bed right now, can I take you inside so I can show you every trick I have in the book? And I’m gonna keep going until you get it through that drunken head of yours that you’re never going to have to fake an orgasm with me, now or ever.”

“Hell no, I’m a player hater, and that man has expert game.”
This is the end of an era, all the men in the Bliss Series have had their happy ever after and now it is the turn of the last man standing....The Walking Dildo...Dr Noah Taylor. I had been eagerly anticipating his story, after all, his reputation preceded him, was he really like what we had been led to believe? Well the answer was...yes; the man was definitely a stud and had the equipment to back it up but underneath that reputation was a man that had a heart of gold and a man that desperately wanted to be loved. He had grown up, he wanted what his friends had but it was something he thought he would never, ever get.
Noah was the player, but for him this was a means to an end, a pure release, emotionally detached, after all he had been pining after a woman for fifteen years. A woman that had used him as her own release and saw him as nothing else, much to his dismay. To say she was a bitch is a severe understatement and it is unusual for me to hate a BJ Harvey character but I certainly hated her, with a passion.
“Thanks for the memories. For what I thought was good, what I knew was bad, and now what I know is the true downright ugly side of you. I wish you all the happiness you deserve, which right now, isn’t a lot.”
Noah’s love interest in this book needs to remain a secret, this is all part of the element of surprise and you will be glad once you start reading. She has her own heap of problems and is one of those people that take it upon themselves to shoulder all the burdens on their own, even though they have a load of people that are willing to share and help. It is this secretiveness that causes the most problems as the one thing that Noah insists upon is truth and honesty.
“And the aware for Most Likely To Get Laid Tonight goes to...”
I have to say it was great to see Noah knocked on his arse, who would have thought that one drunken stumble and kiss would leave this man a hot mess. BJ Harvey expertly delivered the thrill of the chase in this book and I am glad that Noah had to work for the prize. To see the real “Noah” was truly enlightening and to actually see his romantic side surface was heart-warming. I loved the slow burn, the slow build, it all added to the intense character connection and the snow ball effect of emotions as they hurtled down the hill. The will they, won’t they, the secrets, the omissions all building to a fantastic crescendo at the end.
“Fucking Noah. His name shouldn’t be Walking Dildo, it should be Twat Tease. That big, sexy infuriating man has my vagina doing somersaults whenever he’s near me. When he touches me, my bones melt and I turn into a wanton hussy who wants to rub herself all over him like a desperate dog in heat.”
This was an intense ride, I went through the mill as usual, there were tears of happiness and sadness but that is kudos to the author for bringing all of those emotions out of me. This was a perfectly balanced book though and once again BJ Harvey has wowed me with her wit and intense sexual chemistry, between the emotional we have the hilarious with an undercurrent of suspense that will keep you on your toes. All our favourite characters appear in this book too and it was great to catch up with them all. This series is more a family, the Bliss family. The long term friendships albeit having been formed in the strangest of circumstances are tangible, they are all there for each other and they all have each other’s back. It is these friendships too that pours into your heart through the pages.
“Dude, no. Just, no. He’s our big brother. I know he does it, and I had the unfortunate experience of seeing him mid-strip once. That is more than enough for me. It’s like hear no evil, see no evil, ‘don’t need to fucking know about it’ evil.”
This was a fantastic addition to this series and is one series I can highly recommend. For pure entertainment value it is a must read but also if you are in the mood for some panty melting reading then this ticks the boxes too. I have to applaud the author on the growth of her writing, with each book she just gets better and better, I remember my first read of hers, the Lost Series and the author then to now is barely recognisable, but one thing remains prevalent and that is the authors wicked sense of humour and I am glad that hasn’t been eradicated in her growth. Fantastic series, fantastic book, I loved it. I am sad that this is the end of the road for this crew but I am hoping that BJ Harvey can be tempted to revisit them in the future.
