“Peters liked fucking with me, but I liked it more.”

This book was just what the doctor ordered after a slew of emotional reads. This book had me in stitches, tears rolling down my face with laughter and was just a real feel good read. Yes, it does have a little angst to balance the content but this was one hilarious hate/love read. I love reading about college life, the Greek system, the jocks and nerds and this one ticked all the boxes all wrapped up in a huge dose of hilarity and one sassy but totally lovable heroine.

Sydney was one of a kind, when she transfers to Northern University studying media, she soon puts herself right into the heart of the University. She kept herself to herself but at night she became “the” campus radio personality Sunday Lane, a woman that had a no holds barred slot where anything and everything was fair game. The airing of campus dirty laundry and her witty underhanded barbs at anyone and everyone earned her more than her fair share of enemies but also a lot of avid followers. Radio though was not where her heart laid, she loved being a DJ, spinning discs and mashing up songs, she had a slot at a local club and she revelled in her time on stage.

Sydney was hilarious, she was sassy, she was feisty, she was hot headed and she could hold her own, but her sense of humour was off the charts and I just wanted to give her the biggest of fist bumps. If I could have a do-over, I would have loved to have been a Sydney. Sydney was also the over-protective and over-bearing big sister to her younger brother Jack. He had just joined Northern and was on the football team. As he was so young the coach had put him under the wing of Gray, the university manwhore. Fearing for her brothers safety, sanity and innocence mama bear comes out to play, especially as it seems that Sydney and Gray once had a one night stand, so they have history too.

“We had a one-night stand, and you made me feel cheap and dirty. I’d never felt so worthless in my life. You can go be with your whores, Peters, and you can go to hell, but I’ll be damned if you take my brother with you.”

Gray was the star quarter back and was used to getting exactly what he wanted, he was as hot as hell, charming to boot, but underneath that joking, manwhore, cannot be serious for one second demeanour was a man with a heart of gold. Also a man that cannot forget a one night stand two years ago. But now they are arch enemies, with pranks and plotting galore these two really go at each other full throttle, the gloves are off and what these two do to each other is unbelievable. But as we all know, there is a fine line between love and hate, but all these two have on their mind is REVENGE.

“Everyone has someone in their life they want to throttle one minute and make out with the next, and for me that was a petite dark-haired, snot mouth with an incredible capacity for evil.”

The chemistry between these two was palpable, even when they were hating each other the sparks and the connection was apparent for all to see and to see their relationship develop despite their best intentions not to was not only hilarious but actually heart warming. With secondary characters that play pivotal roles and all add to the overall fun factor of this book there is no shortage of love and laughs.

“That’s when I realized you didn’t have to have a lot of money to make something magical.”

While this is a standalone, this is the first book of a series and I am presuming that other characters are going to have their stories told and I cannot wait. If this book is anything to go buy I cannot wait to dive into the next instalment.
