Be still my beating heart…once again Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward deliver a swoon worthy hero that will have your heart melting into a mushy puddle of goo once you get past the arrogant, cocky, honest playboy pilot façade.


“My layover just got more interesting.”


Captain Carter was a man that used the title of captain of the skies to protect his heart, hide his guilt and fornicate like a pro…his means of escape. But underneath that playboy façade was a man with a huge heart and a heart of gold at that. Carter was charismatic with a capital C, he has no filter, tells it how it is and is honest to a fault, even if what leaves his lips is extremely embarrassing. But is this charms and charisma that makes him so endearing even if he cannot keep his dick in his pants and has had liaisons with all the cabin crew except for the lesbians. Underneath everything was a man that doesn’t love easily, but when he does, he loves hard and is definitely all in.

Kendall was a woman with a huge decision to make, a decision she couldn’t make with outside influences forever trying to sway her decision. Kendall ends up in an airport lounge perusing holiday destinations so she could go somewhere in peace and quiet so she can decide what path to take. She didn’t bank on meeting Carter though.


“Maybe we see a little of ourselves in each other. We’re two wrongs that somehow make a right. Inseparable we’re miserable, but together…we somehow work.”


Playboy Pilot is a journey for both characters, one who is just beginning and has her eyes wide open and the second who has no idea his journey is still in full flight but may have finally found his destination. This is a book about the unlikeliest of friends, the unlikeliest of lovers but the heart knowing who the heart wants. A book of restraint, a book of no holding back, a book of laughs, a book of lows but most of all, a ride, one heck of a journey of finally finding a soul mate.


“Half of the people in the world will tell you to follow your head, half will tell you to follow your heart. My advice, follow the one that isn’t confused. The stronger one will eventually convince the other to fall in line.”


The chemistry was scorching hot, the banter and dialogue were on point. I laughed hard and cried harder, but most of all I took this journey with Carter and Kendall. I lived the highs and lows, I ate up the emotion woven in between the words. I begged and pleaded for these two to take a chance, I begged and pleaded for Kendall to see past Mr Poke it in Anywhere and Everywhere but most of all, I wanted love to win.


“See…you get me. You accept me for the panty sniffer I am. This is why you can’t leave me. No one else will have me.”


The Beatles lyrics throughout made a great book, a greater book, it was little things like this that totally brought this book together and tied these two together…tight. The little things made a huge impact. There was nothing I didn’t like. Keeland and Ward together are a formidable unit, I cannot wait to see what else comes from this writing duo. Whatever it is, I will be reading.

Excerpt:
“Carter? What are you doing?”
Shit.
I laughed under my breath and banged the back of my head against the wood. “Praying?”
“Do you always breathe like that when you’re praying?”
“It’s an intense prayer.”
“What are you really doing?”
“I think you might know what I’m really doing, Kendall.”
“Can I come in?”
Still fully erect, I tucked my cock back into my pants as best I could before opening the door.
Her eyes trailed down to my massive erection. “I’m sorry….to make you resort to that.”
“It’s okay. My hand and I haven’t spent time like this since I was a teenager. I think he missed me.”
“What were you thinking about?”
“You.”
“Yeah…but what specifically?”
“It was this fantasy of fucking you on the dance floor back at the club.”
She looked down at me again. Her expression was serious when she asked, “You need some help?”
“I thought you said we weren’t going to go there.”
“I can’t have sex with you. But I want to touch you. I could take my clothes off, let you finish what you started. You know…help you.”
Looking up at the ceiling, I shook my head. “You have no fucking clue, do you?”
“What do you mean?”
“How crazy you make me. There’s no halfway with you. Jerking off with your naked body right in front of me…not being able to do what I really want to you…would be torture. I don’t have that kind of willpower, not with you, not anymore. Even when I kiss you, all I can think about is burying myself inside of you. But you naked in front of me? Too much, Kendall. When you strip down for me, I want it to be when you’re ready to let me have you. Otherwise, it’s better if I don’t know what I’m missing out on.”
Looking filled with remorse, she waved her hands. “Okay. I get it. I’m sorry…for interrupting.”
“Go back to bed. I’ll be right there.”
After Kendall left, I closed my eyes in regret. Was I crazy for turning her away like that?
Now that she knew what I was up to in here, I couldn’t relax. Still needing release like a motherfucker, I turned on the shower and got in. Ironically, I jerked myself to thoughts of her naked body against the bathroom door and imagined she was watching me.

Fuck my life.
