It’s the start of nothing good.
I fired off a storm of raunchy text messages…to the wrong number.
And he replied.
Him: Show me a picture.
Him: Tell me your name.
Why does the lure of anonymity have me craving to indulge a stranger?

It’s the start of everything right.
I received a slew of text messages…when everything in my life was wrong.
And she made me laugh again.
Her: You’re probably a creeper.
Her: Possibly a stalker.
Why do I have the overwhelming need to find this stranger who saved me and make her mine?

Her: This is crazy.
Him: I need to see you.
Her: What are we doing?
Him: We’re about to find out.

"Who knew a wrong number could go oh-so-right?"

This was a book of two halves for me, the first being a hilarious, laugh out loud, smiles a minute read that was worthy of a glorious five sparkly stars. For me though, the second half lost that charismatic, comedic charm of the first, but still had me turning the pages to find out how the story progressed.
Dani is a proverbial doormat, only ever had one relationship, engaged to him and was at his constant beck and call. Dani would bend over backwards to make her fiancé happy until the ultimate betrayal, she catches him in the act of cheating. Now drowning her sorrows with her best friend, Dani is in unchartered waters being a non-drinker, hence the Dutch courage she gets when she starts a text war of words with her ex. Littered with profanities her texts are cathartic until she wakes up the next day and sees the replies…it seems in her drunken haze she had been texting the wrong number. Dani dies of embarrassment!

Ram is a man struggling with the hand that life has dealt him and just finds himself going through the motions on a day to day basis. Ram’s life is monotonous, littered with perceived failures and leaving him feeling like he is nothing, worth nothing…that is until he receives a litany of text messages that make him crack a smile and actually laugh for the first time in a long time. And so begins a text relationship, one where the messages he receives are the highlight of his day.

“You’re both my punishment and my reward.”

The back and forth messages are hilarious at times and it this long text relationship that allows these two to really get to know one and other before they actually met. Both Dani and Ram have been a little economical with the truth at times and as such their relationship is not without its ups and downs, but this was more lies of omission than a deliberate way to deceive. Dani’s aversion to swear words also brought some classic one liners that had me laughing hysterically.

“Don’t ever call me Buttercunt again or you’ll be a single Americunt.”

Ram’s brother, Roman and Dani’s best friend, Andie are both ever present and these two are up next in book two. I will say that Andie is extremely annoying and frustrating at times but her loyalty to Dani never waivers and she is a true best, best friend. Andie and Roman’s hate/love/hate relationship also gave way to some hilarious cussing matches that will literally have you in tears of laughter.

This was a fun and flirty read, cute romance, hot, hot, hot, low angst with great banter, yes it was a little immature, but when you laugh like that…who cares. It was an easy read and while for me the second half didn’t live up to the first I still really enjoyed it.
