What a shame that this excellent series has to come to an end, but this last book excels and is a fitting finale.

King is back from the dead but not himself. This King is pure evil. He is still looking his devilish handsome and sexy self but he is up to no good in the most diabolical way and more powerful than ever before.

Mia is Kings wife and she has been grieving since his death, looking after their baby in the family home. Mia then receives a phone call from her brother-in-law, Mack, telling her King is back.

Mia makes her way to San Frisco to confront him. King doesn't recognize her and Mia notices the difference in him. This man was not her loyal and protective husband that she loved so deeply, the man in front of her had changed. No more did he have those beautiful blue eyes, now they are a cold pale grey and after talking to him she sees he now has a cruel and greedy heart, not the loving heart that used to beat within him.

“A monster in sheep's clothing.”

The only way she can get his attention is by hiring him. She needs to get close to see if she can get her loving husband back or to have to kill and destroy him. And so, this fantastic story begins. With lots of shocks and danger in store for Mia but also the awakening of Kings memories which brings Mia closer than ever to King.

Mia knew it was a mistake to let King take her in his arms but the love she had for him was still coursing through her and his touch brought her back to life.

“He leaned down and kissed me. His silky lips felt warm and sensual, exactly like I remembered. This was still King. Still seductive and carnal. Still able to evoke primal lust deep inside me.”

But the more Mia was in Kings company the more she knew she had to stop him even if it means killing him and losing him all over again.

Brilliant page turner. So much going on in the book which keeps the interest running high. An excellent book Ms Pamfiloff. A fitting ending and I am so sorry to see the end of this fantastic series.
