Review ~ Finding Mr Wrong by AM Madden and Joanne Schwehm

Book Description:

Here’s a tip: never trust a jackass in preppy clothing.

The phrase “trust me” should have been my first clue to hightail it out the door, but hindsight is always 20/20.

So there I was, on a stage with two other men, being asked ridiculous questions by a woman I couldn’t see, but whose voice made my pants tighten―and not around my ankles.

Before I knew what was happening, I'd signed up for six weeks in paradise, isolated on an island for forty-two days with a complete stranger. And when I finally laid eyes on the sexy brunette who belonged to that voice, a part of me thought this wouldn’t be so bad.

I’ve always been a levelheaded guy. I am a successful, smart, and shrewd business man. But that was when I was listening to the head above my shoulders. Once the blood traveled south, I always ran into trouble.

She called me Mr. Wrong, and that was fine with me.

Lesson learned: lust always trumps logic.

Finding Mr. Wrong is a contemporary romance stand alone novel meant for readers who are 18+ due to mature content.

“Wrong never felt so right.”

This is one of those books that the doctors ordered, my Saturday was totally taken over by Jude Soren and his Sparky. There were tears of laughter, tears of upset, but by the end my grin was as wide as anything and the perma smile stayed there for the rest of the day.

Sometimes, when you have a new collaboration, the change in authors is easy to spot, especially if you read one particular author more than the other. I have read all of Joanne Schwehm’s book and have read a few of AM Madden’s but I have to say the flow and style was seamless and flawless and that made this an effortless read.

“Keep the flame burning and don’t lose your spark.”

Our heroine, Brae, has found herself on tough times. She has just quit her job after finding her boyfriend, who happened to be her boss, cheating on her and she just couldn’t stay there. Brae has been silently supporting her parents who are in danger of losing their farm and home and now that she has lost her job the foreclosure notice is getting closer and closer. Brae gets an email just at the right time, a social experiment of sorts for a cool half a million dollars in prize money. Six weeks on an island with a stranger, all in the name of finding love…but there are catches.

“I agree with Brae. He’s hot as fuck. I’ve never, and I mean never, seen such perfection in a man. I’d volunteer to be his spunk funnel any day!”

Jude Soren is one sexy Swede and AM Madden and Joanne Schwehm have certainly created a character that will have all the women swooning. Jude runs his own finance company, is extremely well off and is a little like Peter Pan, the boy that never grew up. Jude and his two friends are like frat brothers still, they play pranks on one and other and the latest to be played on Jude was his sign up to this competition. Jude goes out of his way not to get picked, his arrogance and vulgarity on show for all to see, yet little did he know that Brae didn’t want to find a Mr Right, she wanted a Mr Wrong so she wouldn’t fall in love…

“There he was in all his Swedish glory. God love a Swede. If I had a Swedish flag, I’d wave it with pride. If I knew his parents’ address, I’d send them a thank you card.”

AM Madden and Joanne Schwehm delivered a book that will have you laughing out loud. The banter between Jude and his friends and Brae and hers will have you laughing and snorting in no time. The dialogue was on point throughout and it is through this that these two authors nailed that character connection. Even when it is just Jude and Brae that witty, barbed dialogue just cements these as two characters that you cannot help but fall in love with.

“What does it say?”
“It says I need to pleasure you…finally, something to look forward too.”
“No, it doesn’t. Give me that.”
“You’re such an ass. It doesn’t say pleasure me. It says you need to please me.”
“Meh, same difference.”

At first, these two keep their frosty persona’s firmly in place and it is this “hate you” mentality that really breaks the ice. Once those layers are peeled away on a beautiful island the true Jude and Brae are revealed and opposites definitely attract. The chemistry between these two was ever present, even from when they first set eyes on one and other and both fight it because it is not what they wanted but sometimes love has other ideas.

“I’ve found something I didn’t know I was looking for.”

This book pulled every single emotion out of me. As I said above, I had tears of laughter and tears of upset, because of course, love is never plain sailing. But AM Madden and Joanne Schwehm delivered a book perfectly balanced, a little angst, lots of romance, hot hot hot sizzling chemistry and between the sheets action with two characters that were adorable from the get go. The other characters that these two authors have introduced are comical in their own right and I cannot wait to see where they go with them, I am hoping that there are at least another two books on the horizon as cupid shoots its bow once again. Fantastic job, totally and utterly adored this book.

“Thanks for picking me, Sparky.”
