Another winning book in this fabulous series, I so love the humour in these books. This one especially is very witty and the love scenes are hot with lots of sexy innuendoes.

With the story continuing with the evil shapeshifter Parker showing his face again you know things can go very bad very quick and our two main characters are in his sights.

Tomas would like to think himself above everyone else. Very arrogant, chauvinistic and a real bad-ass. He rather thinks himself a bit of a modern-day Indiana Jones but without the hat, the whip, and the girl. He's a rare dragon and a Professor of Archaeology in his day to day life and it was while on an expedition in Egypt that it all starts.

The other main character is Chandra, a human biology scientist. Brought up by an overbearing father and family but has managed to break free and get herself a high education and is now engaged in research until everything went horribly wrong.

Following an anonymous tip, Chandra lands up a prisoner in an underground research laboratory and it was here that she met Tomas. The relationship these two have can be quite hilarious, with Tomas being his arrogant self and little Chandra managing with just a word to bring him crashing back to reality.

Tomas really couldn't make heads or tails of his feelings for Chandra. He has hated humans all his life, he saw them way down the evolutionary table but this one, very attractive, human female has turned his life upside down.

There is a lot going on in the story but also the growing romance between Tomas and Chandra. For this dragon Chandra has put a lifetime of a strict moral code she has lived by out the door and has fallen hard and has succumbed

“Arousal spun hot and fast, pleasure moistening her nether parts as Chandra clung to him. They kissed. Over and over they kissed until she panted against his lips.”

From there their lovemaking became hot, frenzied, and mind-blowing.

Thoroughly enjoyable book. Fast paced and a real page turner. Really fantastic characters and it was great to see the Silver Sept girls mentioned again. Book 4 is already pre-ordered. Brilliant Ms Langlais.
