***This is the seventh and final book in the series. First six books must be read in order to fully understand this story line. THIS STORY IS A NOVELLA AND SHORTER THAN THE REST.***

They say the king is the most powerful piece on the board.
However, they haven’t met me.
This queen knows all the rules. She plays the game better than him.
In my game, the queen can knock the king right off the board.

Game over.
The END.

But, I love him.
The darkness threatens to make me lose sight of my strategy from time to time, but in the END, love always prevails.

Problem is, my black king is playing by a different set of rules. His END game is one he shields from me. It’s a game he plays closely with the white king, the most brilliant player of all. Together, they want to END my game.

They want to END me.

This queen doesn’t go down without a fight.

This queen makes her own rules.
This queen will outsmart those who play against her.

This is the END, baby.
In the END, I am going to win it all.

***Warning***

“Happy endings aren’t for villains… But we fucking take them anyway.”

K Webster has delivered one dark, sick and twisted series with War & Peace and I have lapped up every single book. While this book is only a novella it dots the I’s, and crosses the t’s on Gabe and Hannah’s story. Yes, this really is the end baby, in all its gory details. As ever, K Webster holds nothing back, not that I expect her to and to be honest, when it is Gabe and Hannah we are talking about bloodshed is par for the course.

This is kind of a bittersweet read for me, because as much as these characters have sickened me from the get go I have loved their journey. No two people have ever deserved one and other as these two do. They complement each other perfectly, Gabe is the only one that can control Hannah and yet even he struggles at times. Hannah is one unhinged woman and as this series has progressed her need for murder, blood and psychological warfare has only intensified. The question on everyone’s lips in this book is…”is anyone safe?”

“I can’t risk their lives. Their mother is unhinged and unstable. She’s a vase full of cracks, and one day, water will gush out, drowning those she loves in the process. I’ve plugged those cracks, but I’m afraid I can’t do that any longer.”

I have to admit, I do feel sorry for Hannah at times, at the end of the day she is ill and it pains me that nothing works to pull her back from her dark place, but it is these dark places that puts everyone on edge knowing full well that she could snap at any given time. It is this edge that K Webster really drives home in this ending and knowing this, is what has you questioning…who will be her next victim? Or will someone take her down before she has the chance?

K Webster pulls a lot of punches in this book, ones that will have your guts churning accompanied with those little giggles as you really cannot believe what is happening as you read. Sick and twisted situations, reactions and actions are par for the course as K Webster wraps up this series with a bang. I should have been disgusted and yet I wasn’t, does that make me weird…probably. I have read some dark shit in my time and this series does rank up there with them.

“Babies have made me soft. Ever since Brie came into my life, I’ve become weaker. My children have made me this way. Love makes you weak. So fucking weak.”

If you love a dark, sick and twisted read then this is definitely the series for you. I have loved every moment of it and am truly sad to leave these characters behind…especially Gabe. Even though I should hate him K Webster did the impossible, I actually liked him.
