Saturday Spotlight & Huge Giveaway ~ Kate Stewart

KATE STEWART

I first read Kate Stewart back in 2014 and I was hooked. This was one author whose writing style I just clicked with. Sometimes, when you read a book you can just tell that if you knew this author personally, she would be your soul sister, and that is how I felt reading Kate Stewart. There was just something about her writing and I just fell in love with her voice. That first book I read was Never Me.

Kate Stewart is a versatile author, no matter what she puts her mind to, she just NAILS it, every single time. Whether it be contemporary romance, erotica, or romantic comedies, no matter what she pens, she ALWAYS wins, well at least in my eyes. There are not many authors I can say this about, but Kate Stewart has never written a dud. In fact, the lowest rating I have ever given her is 4 stars and over 17 books, that is some record.

I have read every single book Kate Stewart has written, and all of them have touched me in different ways. Kate Stewart always nails emotion, her books hit you where it hurts, but this means that she has done her job and done it extremely well. Kate Stewart's dialogue is always on point, the banter between characters and the situations they find themselves in are real and relatable. Kate Stewart's tag line is "Realistic Romance" and that is what she delivers best, with her trademark angst and strong character connection.

As I said above, for me, Kate Stewart has never written a bad book and I remember, after reading that first book wanting to reach out and tell her just how much I loved it. I had not been blogging long and I'm incredibly shy, but never the less, I did and I was so glad I did. I have stalked her ever since, I have labeled myself her Number One Fan and have not looked back since.

So, with seventeen books under her belt, two have now been married together to form one, there is a lot for you lovely readers to get your teeth into. I am going to list Kate Stewart's books in release date order and series order. I will include links to my reviews so that you can choose for yourself,  but whatever you do, take a chance, you won't regret it.

(Some covers may have changed, but I'm old school)

Room 212

Where it all began. Contemporary Romance

Read my review here

"Not all love stories and happy ever afters come easy and nothing is more from the truth than for Laura and Seth. Each have their issues but together the seemed to centre each other, until they didn't. Maybe love came for them too early, maybe they just were not ready but sometimes fate has other ideas. Fate gives them a second chance but are either or both too stubborn to take it?"

Sexual Awakenings

Contemporary Romance/Erotic

Read my review here

"Sexual Awakenings was originally penned under Kate Stewarts pen name Angelica Chase, a pen name that the author used for her “erotic” stories. This is definitely a different side to Kate Stewart and I must say…I LOVED IT A LOT!!

I loved the revelations throughout this book, this was so much more than what I initially thought it would be about. This story has meat and bones, not just gratuitous sex and while that side was more than welcome it wasn’t the core. Kate Stewart has once again blown me away and I cannot wait to read more from her sexy, filthy side."

Never Me

Contemporary Romance

Read my review here

"This is a story about finding yourself, growing up, second chance love and leaning to trust. Finding that person whom you trust completely and stripping yourself back to the bare bones. It is angsty, it is funny, you will laugh and you will cry but you will also fall in love with a bunch of characters that will steal your heart. It is a page turner, fast paced and will keep you captivated from start to finish and if you are anything like me, you will want more! To me their story is just beginning, I have had the appetiser and the main course, now I want the dessert."

Loving the White Liar

Contemporary Romance

Read my review here

"This is a story of true love, that all-encompassing love, that soul mate kind of love. Where flaws are mere speed bumps, they are there to go over and sometimes slow you down. Where working together is imperative and being honest is of vital importance. Where learning to bend and learning to adapt works both ways, but first and foremost love conquers all. Everybody deserves a shot at love, everybody needs to be loved and love needs to be nurtured and treasured and to never take it for granted. I loved that this was a “real” love story, we are not all perfect but that doesn’t make us any less worthy. Kate Stewart always manages to deliver something different and that is what I love about this book. Yes it was different but it was honest, it was raw, it was powerful. I lived it, I breathed it but most importantly, I loved it."

Excess

Contemporary Romance/Erotica

Read my review here
(originally released as pen name Angelica Chase)

" This series was compelling, extremely addictive and totally intriguing. While you will no doubt have your favourite throughout this story just hold those thoughts until the end, everything you think you know...forget it. Angelica Chase has penned an extremely clever story that had me totally flabbergasted. The highs and lows, the push and pull, combined with some wit and some intensely heated sex scenes leaves you with a perfectly balanced read that will keep those pages turning frantically till the end."

Predator and Prey Series: The Phoenix and the Fire

Contemporary Romance/Romantic Suspense/Erotica

Read my review of Camouflage
Read my review of Crosshairs

(originally released as two books, Camouflage and Crosshairs under pen name, Angelica Chase)

"This was by no means your run of the mill romance. This was Kate Stewart’s dirty side and every powerplay, battle for dominance and erotic yet sensual sex scenes are what seriously ramped up the heat factor in this book. But, Kate’s angel side, that emotional side was prevalent throughout and really balanced these two as a couple and made the reader believe in them as a couple. Their path is far from simple, the mountains are high and the valleys are low, but if any couple have the strength to make it work, it is these two. From the edge of my seat for most of the ride my fingernails bitten to the quick, Kate Stewart showed just how powerful and consuming her stories really are. Another winner, a great ending to this duet and I will part with one word…CEDRIC. Kate Stewart…CEDRIC, CEDRIC, CEDRIC, CEDRIC."

The Fall, The Mind and The Heart

Contemporary Romance

Read my review ~  The Fall

"Second chance love is one of my favourites and I loved this element of this story. Kate Stewart really delivered on the angst and heartbreak and heartache with regards to letting go and then finally trying to forgive and forget."

Read my review ~ The Mind

"It is very very rare I give 5 stars to a novella, but this book, albeit only 141 pages packed one mighty emotional punch. Instalove is something that is extremely hard to “get,” we all have our doubts about it in reality, but having felt it when I first met my now husband I do believe in it and Kate Stewart captured this perfectly in The Mind.

This novella covers two characters that were featured in The Fall and I highly recommend reading this book before attempting to read this novella. While those that have read The Fall know the background of Rose and Grant, nothing can prepare you for the words that Kate Stewart delivers in The Mind. This novella is also a warm up to book two, The Heart, which is Rose’s story."

Read my review ~ The Heart

"The Heart is a perfect title for this story. This is all about The Heart, about the power it wields over us and its ability to heal. The heart wants what the heart wants but what happens when the heart can’t have? Kate Stewart delivered a perfect story as she consummately captured those push and pull of emotions from past to present."

Anything But Minor, Major Love and Sweeping the Series

Contemporary Romance/Romantic Comedy

Read my review ~ Anything But Minor

"Kate Stewart has given me the impossible task of trying to convey in words just how perfect this book is. This is BY FAR my favourite book of 2016 by a country mile. Everything about this book was romantic comedy at its best, hilarious, romantic, swoony, sexy, fun, flirty and just so darn perfect. I had tears of laughter and I mean streams of tears, belly laughs and a stitch many, many times. The heroine is to die for, my favourite heroine EVER. I want to be Alice, I loved her that much. But, Anything but Minor can also tick the boxes for those looking for a sports romance too, our hero in this book is a baseball player."

Read my review ~ Major Love

"This was an intense and beautiful story, one that ticked every one of my boxes and once again delivered an unforgettable hero. This was more than a romance; it was a journey of healing for both characters and one that Kate Stewart delivered with intensity and realism. I cannot wait to see what Kate Stewart delivers next, one thing I do know is that I will be at the front of the queue patiently waiting."

Read my review ~ Sweeping the Series

"Sweeping the Series is part of Kate Stewart's Rom Com series, so as one would expect Kate Stewart's humour is smattered throughout and most of the comedic relief comes in the form of the other two wives that we have already met. There is one scene in particular where I had tears of laughter running down my face, my sides ached and my husband thought I had gone nuts.
I loved everything about this novella and this was the perfect addition to Anything But Minor and Major Love. If you have not read this series, please, please do. If you love a good laugh you are seriously missing out."

The Brave Line

Contemporary Romance

Read my review here

"Once again, Kate Stewart took a sledgehammer to my heart, she decimated it, but very carefully put it back together. My heart and soul took these characters in and were extremely reluctant to let them go. These two were so relatable, so brutally honest that you cannot help but love them, their struggles become your own. As ever, Kate Stewart’s writing was flawless, her innate ability to deliver on character connection, on emotion is effortless, her comedic timing, genius, and her characters as honest and relatable as the day is long. This is a book that will put you on the proverbial emotional rollercoaster, but once again, what a ride. Another amazing book from this incredibly talented author. I cannot wait for the next one."

Drive

Contemporary Romance

Read my review here

"To be honest, 5 stars is not enough for this book. Out of the thousands and thousands of books I have read I have two all-time favourites that I recommend to anyone who will listen. These two books have been on that list for a long time with no stand out books that have deserved to match them…until now. I have read this book three times already, three times this book has destroyed me and each time of reading, despite knowing what is coming, it hurt just as much as the first. That is testament to this authors innate ability to master emotion. With a Kate Stewart read you experience everything, she immerses you into the lives of her characters so naturally and absolutely that when they hurt, you hurt. You take her characters into your heart and soul, you live and breathe their love, their pain, their highs and their lows, they smile you smile, they love you love. I experienced this like life itself, it felt real, and despite the many highs, the lows hurt like a b***h."

No cookie cutter romance, just a Kate Stewart original with all those writing traits I love and crave. Someone Else's Ocean

Contemporary Romance

Read my review here

"As with any Kate Stewart book her trademarks are all over this book, plot driven, real romance, a little angst, a lot of emotion and fantastic dialogue. Kate Stewart brings these characters to life in glorious technicolour and they grasp a hold of your heart strings and never let go until the very end. As I have said before, Kate Stewart writes real romance with real, relatable characters that you can connect with, understand, empathise with and most importantly fall in love with and Ian and Koti are no different."
